On the afternoon of August 25, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, said that with the spirit of fiercely fighting against crime and violations, competing to achieve the highest achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 has just discovered and arrested 3 cases of illegal transportation of about 115,000 liters of diesel oil (DO) in the Southwest sea.

Specifically, on the morning of August 24, during the patrol, inspection and control in the Southwest sea, the functional forces of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command discovered and inspected two fishing vessels KG 90095 TS and BTh 97222 TS with suspicious signs, thereby discovering 65,000 liters of DO oil without documents proving the legal origin of the goods.

At noon on August 25, also in the Southwest sea, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command discovered and inspected fishing boat TG 91139 TS and discovered that the boat was transporting about 50,000 liters of DO oil without documents proving the legal origin of the goods.

The functional forces of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command have drawn up a record to temporarily detain all 3 fishing boats, sealed the goods and escorted them to the unit's ports in An Giang and Ca Mau for further investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.

Working with the coast guard, the captains of the ships admitted that the illegally transported oil would be sold to fishing vessels operating at sea.

The arrest and handling of three vessels KG 90095 TS, BTh 97222 TS and TG 91139 TS by the Coast Guard has contributed to tightening the management of fishing vessels and preventing IUU violations in the assigned management waters.
