Local media reported on April 5 that the incident occurred in Chhattisgarh state, India, killing the groom and his younger brother.
According to police, the bride received a home audio system as a wedding gift from her ex-boyfriend. However, it actually contained a bomb and exploded earlier this week.
The bride’s ex-boyfriend was furious when he heard that his ex-girlfriend was getting married and carried out the bomb plot. The groom, Hemendra Merawi, died at his home in Kabirdham district shortly after plugging in the sound system.

The groom’s brother, Rajkumar, also died from his injuries. Four other family members, including an 18-month-old child, were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The blast was so powerful that it is believed to have collapsed the roof and walls of the house. The suspect, identified as Sarju Markam, 33, was arrested in the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh a day later.
Markam is known to be married with two sons. However, he is accused of having an affair with a 29-year-old woman and wanting her to become his second wife.
"Markam initially lied to Merawi's wife that he was not married. After discovering the truth, she refused to marry him but he continued to threaten her. Markam installed the bomb in the sound system and kept it under the pedestal along with other gifts," the police said.
The suspect used ammonium nitrate, gasoline and gunpowder recovered from firecrackers and wrapped them as gifts to avoid suspicion. Police added that Markam previously worked in a stone crushing plant, where he learned how to make explosives using ammonium nitrate.
