Co To Island becomes a hot destination during the April 30th holiday, with tourists flocking to the island by boat.

During the April 30th holiday, coastal and island destinations in Northern Vietnam attracted many tourists. On the first day of the holiday alone, Co To Island (Quang Ninh province) attracted a large number of visitors, with hotel occupancy exceeding 90%.

Boasting numerous long beaches and turquoise waters, Co To Island (Co To Special Economic Zone, Quang Ninh province) has become a popular destination for many tourists during the April 30th and May 1st holidays.

Planning a trip to Co To Island with her best friend during the holidays, Ngoc Linh started looking for accommodation on the island as early as March to find a suitable room at a good price.

"I've known about Co To Island for a long time. Compared to other beach and island destinations, the cost of a trip to Co To is quite affordable for us students. My best friend and I decided to spend 3 days of the April 30th holiday enjoying and exploring this beautiful island."

"I mainly find travel information through videos and reviews on Facebook and TikTok. On the day I arrived at the port to board the boat to the island, I was surprised by the huge number of tourists. I was a little worried, but when I got there, I found it wasn't too crowded because the island has many long stretches of beaches and beautiful attractions," Ngoc Linh said.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Sao, Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of the Co To Special Economic Zone, said that on the first day of the April 30th holiday alone, Co To Island welcomed approximately 11,000 visitors. Prior to that, during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, Co To had already received 11,790 visitors.

Currently, Co To has over 250 accommodation establishments, including 117 licensed tourist accommodation businesses with 1,822 rooms, while the rest are guesthouses and homestays.

According to owners of accommodation establishments in the Co To Special Economic Zone, the number of bookings and tourism services on the island has increased dramatically since the beginning of April.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan (a tourism service provider on Co To Island), room rates on Co To Island during the holiday period range from 500,000 VND to 1.2 million VND per room. This year's holiday saw a higher number of visitors to the island compared to the same period in 2025.

"Tourists tend to book earlier. After the April 30th holiday, most weekend stays at our homestay are fully booked, with peak periods in June and July."

"This year, besides individual travelers, there are quite a lot of group and family tourists. With the development of social media, tourists can access accommodation information more easily," Tuan shared.

During the April 30th holiday, tourists visiting Co To mainly participate in activities such as swimming, water sports, and visiting islands and tourist attractions in the area.

Popular destinations for tourists, especially young people, include Love Beach, Love Road, Hong Van Beach, Van Chay Beach, Vung Tien, Mong Rong Rock Beach, Co To Lighthouse, etc.

In addition, tourists can experience many interesting activities with the locals such as digging for clams and catching snails.
