Mr. Modi assessed that the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership has grown to new heights, including in the fields of technology, defense, space, biotechnology and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Besides, the Indian Prime Minister expressed his wish to continue promoting this momentum in bilateral relations for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
Earlier, Mr. Sullivan met with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. On the social networking site X, the head of the Indian foreign ministry said that during the meeting, the two officials continued ongoing discussions on deepening bilateral, regional and global cooperation.
Foreign Minister Jaishankar praised Mr. Sullivan for his “personal contribution” in promoting an increasingly close and strong partnership between India and the US.
One of the prominent initiatives in cooperation is the US-India Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), launched in May 2022. The goal of iCET is to promote cooperation between the two countries in advanced technology areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology and defense.
During the visit, US National Security Advisor Sullivan also held in-depth discussions with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval to review progress in cooperation under the iCET framework and pledged to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries.
