On the afternoon of September 28, the memorial service for Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha - wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap - was solemnly held at the National Funeral House with the participation of many relatives, friends and colleagues.
The greatest happiness in Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha's life is being associated with the General.
In the eulogy at the memorial service, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son - Principal of Hanoi Pedagogical University (where General Vo Nguyen Giap's wife used to work) - reviewed the work and contributions of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha.
As a cadre - party member, in any position, when at school, at work, or in research, she is always exemplary, dedicated, and excellent in completing all tasks assigned by the organization, always dedicated and responsible for her work.
According to Mr. Son, Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha is a woman with many special qualities, intelligent, highly educated, very modest, simple, and always close to everyone.
She was always by the General's side, loyal, steadfast, sharing the ups and downs of life and career with the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army, in war as well as in peace.
Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha and General Vo Nguyen Giap lived happily with their four children and devoted their love to Vo Hong Anh, the first daughter of martyr Nguyen Thi Quang Thai and the General.

She was a "special assistant", silently and quietly helping her husband research, synthesize news, discuss historical issues with him, read books with him, arrange documents and help the General write memoirs, and translate his works into French.
As a kind, intelligent, and strong-willed woman, she volunteered to step back and take care of her family so that General Vo Nguyen Giap could focus on national and military affairs.
"She lived a simple life, devoted all her love to her family and shared her care and concern with those around her.
She and the General taught their children and grandchildren patriotism, the glorious traditions of the nation, gratitude for the sacrifices of compatriots and soldiers in the resistance wars; independence, responsibility, love of work, living simply and sincerely, being good citizens and useful to society," Mr. Nguyen Duc Son shared.

Mr. Son affirmed that the greatest happiness in Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha's life is being close to the General, being a solid supporter, taking care of the family,educating children and grandchildren, so that the General can wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly fulfill the important responsibilities assigned by Uncle Ho, the Party, the army, and the people, and complete the historical mission of the nation.
She lived a very pure and noble life...
"During their lifetime, the General and his wife's wish was to always be close to each other. In this sad moment, I would like to bid farewell to Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha as she returns to General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua - Yen Island after 11 years of separation. From now on, they will be together forever," Mr. Son expressed.

On behalf of the family, Mrs. Vo Hoa Binh (eldest daughter of General Vo Nguyen Giap and his wife Dang Bich Ha) choked up: "The 15th day of the 8th lunar month this year is the day our family had a great separation - our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother - Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha has passed away...".
Mrs. Hoa Binh shared that the following days were the days when the whole family worked together to prepare for her and her grandparents’ funeral. The whole family felt empty, the moments of loss grew longer and longer, and the moments when they reminisced about the peaceful, happy days with their grandparents.
