

In Mu Cang Chai commune, the commune police advised the commune People's Committee to issue a document directing natural disaster prevention and control; at the same time, they coordinated with departments, branches and organizations to step up propaganda through the loudspeaker system, social networks and to each household, instructing people to reinforce their houses, trim trees and move their assets to a safe place.
The police force also directly checked vulnerable points, mobilizing people living along streams and at the foot of mountains to evacuate to safe storm shelters.

In Pung Luong commune, continuous heavy rain during the night of August 25 and early morning of August 26 caused the stream water to rise. The commune police assigned forces to patrol, set up checkpoints, stretch warning ropes, and direct traffic, preventing people from passing through dangerous areas.




In Nam Co commune, the commune police coordinated to support people in moving their property and resolutely mobilized households to move out of areas at risk of landslides.
“If it weren’t for the police officers’ persistent persuasion, my family would still have hesitated to evacuate. Thanks to the timely help, the whole family was brought to safety,” Trieu Van Duong, a resident, emotionally shared.
Currently, Lao Cai province continues to experience heavy rain, causing water levels in some rivers and streams to rise. Following the direction of the provincial police, the police force in communes maintains patrols along the streams, promptly warns and propagates to people not to collect firewood, fish or travel in dangerous areas.
