Player Duong Thuy Vi and teammates attend the 2025 World Wushu Championship

The Vietnamese wushu team will participate in the 2025 world championship in Brazil with 12 key players to achieve the best results.

Duong Thuy Vi is a member of the Vietnamese wushu team participating in the 2025 world tournament.

The coaching board of the Vietnamese wushu team said that we will have 12 players participating in the 2025 World Wushu Championship from August 31 in Brazil.

In the list of competitors, athlete Duong Thuy Vi is the most experienced and has the best record ever of the Vietnamese wushu team. She will participate in the 2025 world championship to compete in taolu (performance) events, specializing in spearmanship and swordsmanship.

Boxer Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy won the gold medal in the women's 60kg sanda (combat) category and Nguyen Thi Lan won the gold medal in the women's 48kg sanda category at the 2023 World Championship. This time, they aim to defend their gold medals.

The World Wushu Federation will compete in the following weight categories at this year's World Championship: 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg, 100kg, and over 100kg (men) and 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, and 75kg for women. The Taolu event will feature a full range of medals for individuals, men, and women according to regulations, as well as a sparring event.

At the last world championship held in 2023, the Vietnamese wushu team finished second overall with 5 gold medals. The champion at that time was the Chinese team (15 gold medals).
