Dong Trieu Town Police: Many practical models in learning and following Uncle Ho's teachings.

To promote the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo (12th term) on strengthening the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style, the Party Committee of the Dong Trieu Town Police Department has concretized it into specific and practical actions. Through this, it has transformed the awareness and actions of officers and soldiers in performing their duties, building an increasingly positive image of the people's police officer in the hearts of the people.

In recent years, the model of "volunteering overtime and weekend work" to issue citizen identification cards (CCCD) to the people has been actively and responsibly embraced and participated in by the officers of the Social Order and Security Management Team of the Dong Trieu Town Police. The team also effectively maintains mobile working groups that directly go to the grassroots level to process CCCD applications, especially providing free services for policy beneficiaries, the elderly, the disabled, and those with serious illnesses who are unable to travel. Through these meaningful actions, not only is the quality of administrative reform improved within the unit, but the image of the Dong Trieu Town Police officers is also enhanced in the hearts of the people.

The above model is just one of many practical activities in learning and following the example of President Ho Chi Minh that the Dong Trieu Town Police Department has implemented in recent times. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Son, Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Dong Trieu Town Police Department, said: Identifying the implementation of Directive No. 05 as one of the key contents in Party building and building a clean and strong police force, in recent years, the Party Committee of the Dong Trieu Town Police Department has proactively developed a plan to disseminate and implement it throughout the unit. 100% of officers and soldiers are committed to self-cultivation, striving, and training to seriously implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW in conjunction with Resolution No. 4 of the Central Committee (12th term) and the movement "People's Police studying and implementing the Six Teachings of President Ho Chi Minh" in the new situation...

Through various rich propaganda activities, the study and emulation of President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style have spread strongly, creating motivation for officers and soldiers in the unit to strive to perform their assigned tasks well. Notably, the unit has effectively built and maintained 14 projects and tasks that build a positive image of police officers in the hearts of the people, such as: "Volunteering to work overtime and on holidays" to ensure security and order; participating in disease prevention teams; developing a plan to organize forums for the police to listen to the people's opinions... Through these activities, a strong transformation in the awareness, ideology, and actions of officers and soldiers has been created, building the people's trust in the police force.

In the field of ensuring political security, the town's police force has proactively grasped the situation and promptly advised the local Party committee and government on directing the resolution of many complex incidents occurring in the area. Notably, in 2022, the unit proactively advised the Town Party Committee and People's Committee to issue 165 documents ensuring security and order, rectifying and overcoming shortcomings and obstacles arising in key areas, such as economic management, basic construction, and project implementation, preventing any complications. Particularly in 2022, the town continued to implement over 30 large projects, with land clearance involving over 5,000 households. The town's police force also advised the local government on effectively resolving issues arising at the grassroots level, resulting in successful land clearance, ensuring security and safety, and avoiding the need for forced evictions.

Following Uncle Ho's teachings, the town's police force has focused on effectively implementing social and professional crime prevention measures, coupled with four intensive campaigns to combat and suppress crime. They have concentrated on reviewing individuals under their management, especially those operating in organized groups and across multiple provinces. As a result, no serious crimes causing public outrage have occurred in the area recently. Notably, in 2022, the unit dismantled five criminal gangs and prosecuted 32 individuals. In particular, they eradicated an inter-provincial property theft ring, arresting three individuals involved in six property theft cases; and dismantled a local property theft ring, recovering a significant amount of stolen property.

With the achievements made, in 2022, the unit received 55 commendations and awards for collectives and 75 commendations for individuals from central, provincial, and local government agencies.
