On the evening of November 10, the People's Committee of Bu Dang District ( Binh Phuoc Province) organized the art program "Bom Bo Festival Night" at the Stieng Ethnic Cultural Reserve in Bom Bo (Bu Dang District, Binh Phuoc Province), announcing the largest set of stone instruments and gongs in Vietnam.
Welcoming record number of tourists
According to the People's Committee of Bu Dang district, the festival "The sound of pestles echoing forever on Bom Bo village" takes place for 3 days (November 8 - January 10). This is the first time the festival is held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Bu Dang (December 14, 1974 - December 14, 2024).

According to Thanh Nien reporters, during the festival, the number of visitors to the festival was very large. Especially during the last 2 days of the weekend, on DT.760 route, connecting from National Highway 14 to the reserve, the number of people and vehicles increased dramatically, and the number of people increased even more towards evening. At times, the route was jammed for kilometers.

Mr. Le Hong Hue (residing in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "The festival was very impressive. The folk competitions, especially the rice pounding competition, gave us a special experience. The people here are also very friendly. We will come back next year when the festival is held."
Ms. Thi Ha (residing in Bu Dang district) said: "I have never seen so many people coming to the Stieng ethnic cultural reserve in Bom Bo like this. I hope that people from all over the country will come to Bu Dang and Bom Bo more in the future."
The largest lithophone set in Vietnam
Mr. Vu Van Muoi, Chairman of Bu Dang District People's Committee said: "In just 3 days, it is estimated that more than 100,000 tourists and people from inside and outside the province have come to the S'tieng Soc Bom Bo Ethnic Cultural Reserve (Reserve) to visit and experience the festival, this is considered a record number so far". The festival took place with many activities such as: art performances, fairs, brocade weaving, re-enactment of friendship festivals, rice pounding competitions, stick pushing, water carrying, making bamboo rice, culinary festivals... all of which are unique cultural features, demonstrating the rich spiritual life of the S'tieng people.

Delegates enjoyed Can wine. The Can wine making technique of the Stieng people has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.
"Through these activities, not only local people but also tourists from all over the world can feel the sincerity, simplicity and solidarity of the people here. The festival is also an opportunity for artisans and people to meet, together continue and preserve, enrich the cultural heritage of the nation, continue to strengthen the solidarity of ethnic groups," Mr. Muoi added.

During the "Bom Bo Festival Night", the Organizing Committee also announced 2 records recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization under the World Record Union - Central Committee of the Vietnam Record Association, including "The largest lithophone set in Vietnam" with 20 bars, the lightest bar is 250 kg, the heaviest bar is 400 kg and "The largest set of gongs made of red copper and tin for performance in Vietnam", in which the gong set includes 6 pieces with a weight of more than 1.8 tons; the set of 6 gongs with a total weight of nearly 1.7 tons.

Representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Record Association awarded the certificate of "The largest stone instrument set in Vietnam" and "The largest gong set made of red copper and tin for performance in Vietnam" to H. Bu Dang.
Along with that, more than 100 artists and actors recreated the image of "Pounding rice with a pestle and mortar - Raising troops to fight the enemy" to protect the country of the Stieng ethnic group.
