Mr. Triet affirmed that English is an optional subject, and only students who are confident in this subject will decide to take the exam. "No one chooses their weaknesses, but always chooses their strengths. Students who invest in studying and are familiar with the type of questions will not be unfamiliar with this type of question," Mr. Triet commented.
A true entrance exam
Mr. Triet said that in addition to achieving the goal of high school graduation, this is a true entrance exam, with a high level of differentiation. Students with average ability will actually be able to achieve 5-6 points. Good students will achieve 6-7 points. Good students will achieve 7-8 points, good students will achieve 8-9 points, and excellent students will achieve 9-10 points.
Accordingly, the number of average level questions is 20, including questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 18, 22, 24, 35, 36, 37, 38. The number of average to good level questions is 12, including questions 11, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 23, 25, 29, 30, 31. The number of good to excellent level questions is 8, including questions 25, 27, 28, 32, 33, 34, 39, 40.

An exam that shocked many people involved
"This exam has alerted teachers, when it pointed out that students who only learn by rote, without thoroughly understanding the problem, will have difficulty in practical situations that require high application. Teachers need to teach reading comprehension skills for relatively long texts, diverse in terms of language, and analyze important grammar in reading passages instead of just skimming and selecting. Teachers also need to teach students to recognize and practice how to write coherently, connect ideas, and lead ideas. There is nothing better than learning to write through reading and learning to speak through listening," said Mr. Vo Anh Triet.
Along with that, Mr. Triet said that this exam reminds students born in 2008 and after that knowledge must be understood thoroughly and must be practiced. Language is repetitive and a lack of serious learning attitude will lead to an empty head even though the school scores are sky-high. Students need to understand that foreign language is a tool, and using that tool proactively and regularly will bring about the necessary proficiency.
Not only that, according to Mr. Triet, this exam also reminds parents. That parents should not place too much importance on scores, because when parents consider scores as everything, schools and teachers will tend to relax and let students achieve high scores, then have good academic records... Accept that your child has weaknesses, has subjects that are not good, in order to promptly support and help your child improve.
Mr. Triet stated his opinion: "A class where nearly 100% of the students are good or excellent, even if it is not a specialized school or a selective class, is a problem. Talent is never in the crowd. Encourage, don't scold, learn, don't criticize, your child will feel less pressure."
A common exam is a true measure
Regarding the issue of "a student with IELTS 7.0 who cannot do the English test", Mr. Triet argued: "A common test is a real measure, because each school is different, how can we know what the real ability is? We should not say that my child has IELTS 7.0 but cannot do this test. We need to look back at IELTS 7.0 as a certificate with only 2 years of validity with essays, speaking in the correct format, using the correct words, and all the words that are rarely used in everyday life. Therefore, many people comparing this test with the IELTS test and saying that a high IELTS score cannot do it is lame, because each test serves a different purpose".
The exam is over but public opinion is still "uproar" because of the difficulty level of the English and math exams.

Mr. Triet believes that society should accept the fact that life is multi-layered and multi-level. Each person is a different individual with different strengths and weaknesses. Know your strengths to take advantage of them. Know your weaknesses to overcome them and become stronger.
"Teach your children life skills, self-discipline, the ability to endure challenges, and compassion for life. A candidate whose car broke down on the road rushed to the test site he saw, asked for help at that test site, and then received help and completed the exam, while most other children would have cried, called their parents, or not known what to do. That candidate's test score may not have been high, but I am sure he will be successful in life, because he knows what to do when facing difficulties," Mr. Triet commented.
According to Mr. Triet,education should be like that, creating strong, determined, wise and courageous children instead of giving tons of certificates, naming countless titles, and then when facing a little challenge, a little difficulty, immediately losing spirit or blaming.
"This year's exam has no errors, the philosophy of this year's exam is correct, bringing everything back to its true nature, to review, to acknowledge, to change, to progress. This year's benchmark score will decrease, and decrease deeply, but don't worry, you still have a school to study, with the mindset of knowing who you are, to try harder, to work harder, to be stronger, to mature", Mr. Vo Anh Triet affirmed.
English test in the correct format of the sample test
According to Mr. Vo Anh Triet, the sample exam for the 2025 high school graduation exam was announced very early, with the same format as the official exam. Therefore, Mr. Triet said that it is not correct to say that the exam is different from last year, surprising students. "Most teachers of the 2018 general education program let students take this type of exam. If not, the teachers have not fulfilled their responsibilities," Mr. Triet affirmed.
"So why is the format exactly the same as the sample exam still shocking? That's because students think the exam will only be at a low level, for many years the graduation exam only takes 15-30 minutes to complete. Therefore, students are not familiar with exams with high differentiation. They lack reading comprehension skills, test analysis skills, and test-taking strategies," said Mr. Triet.
