On October 3, speaking with VietNamNet reporters , the leader of the Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training said that the unit had sent a document to the People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones and secondary schools about not organizing the provincial-level secondary school excellent student exam in the 2025-2026 school year.
Previously, the Department issued an official dispatch guiding the implementation of general education tasks at primary and secondary levels in the 2025-2026 school year, in which it planned to organize the provincial-level secondary school excellent student exam in December 2025. However, this plan was later changed.

Explaining the decision not to hold a provincial-level exam for excellent secondary school students, the leader of the Department of Education and Training said that after the merger of the province, secondary schools have undergone many changes. Specifically, the size of schools has increased, and the distribution of areas has become wider and uneven between communes and wards. Therefore, after consulting with schools, the Department of Education and Training of the province has determined that the priority task for this school year is to stabilize the organization and reorganize the apparatus.
In addition, not holding the exam is to help schools focus on stabilizing teaching and learning, ensuring discipline, and improving the quality of mass education for all students in the post-merger context. Therefore, this year's provincial-level exam for excellent secondary school students will not take place as planned."
