On May 29th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) issued a decision promulgating the 2026 journalist card template.
The 2026 press card template has a length of 85.725 mm, a width of 53.975 mm, and a thickness of 0.76 mm, conforming to the ISO CR80 standard. The card is made of PVC plastic with a matte finish on both sides. The press card number consists of 9 digits randomly selected by the software system.
In terms of design, the card has a yellow front with a lotus flower and bronze drum motifs printed in the center, and a red back. The journalist's card is available in both Vietnamese and English. The front features a photo of the cardholder in the upper left corner, with a QR code for identification below.
By scanning the code, users can look up real-time information including the card's validity status, the cardholder's full name, the media organization, and the journalist's card number.
In addition to personal information such as full name, pen name, year of birth, and workplace, the card also displays the card number, issue date, and expiration date. At the bottom right are the title and signature of the authorized person, along with the seal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Journalist cards are valid for 5 years from the date of issuance. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigns the Press Department to preside over and coordinate with the Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information Department and other relevant units to organize the management, issuance, renewal, revocation and unified use of journalist cards; and to manage data and verify card information according to regulations.
