Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung signed a number of documents, announcing more heritages to the list of national intangible cultural heritages.
These are heritages in areas such as: Social customs and beliefs; folk performing arts; traditional festivals; traditional crafts...
Of which, Tuyen Quang province has 4 recognized heritages including: "Fire dancing ceremony of Pa Then people" (Hong Quang commune, Lam Binh district); "Hong Thai communal house festival" (Tan Trao commune, Son Duong district); "Knowledge about water wheels of Tay people" (Trung Ha commune, Ha Lang commune, Chiem Hoa district; Con Lon commune, Na Hang district; Phuc Yen commune, Lam Binh district); and "Knowledge and practices of wet rice cultivation of Tay people" (Lang Can commune, Hong Quang commune, Khuon Ha commune, Thuong Lam commune, Phuc Yen commune, Lam Binh district).
Dien Bien province has 4 heritages recognized this time: "Dance art of the Lao people" ( Dien Bien district, Dien Bien Dong district); "Ancestral worship ceremony of the White Mong people" (Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien Dong district); "Costume making art of the Ha Nhi people" (Sin Thau commune, Leng Su Sin commune, Sen Thuong commune, Chung Chai commune, Muong Nhe district) and "Blacksmithing of the Mong people".
In addition, there are also heritages: "Lullaby of the Tay people" (Giao Hieu commune, Pac Nam district, Bac Kan province); "Brocade weaving of the Tay people" (Ngoc Dao commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province) and "Pipe art of the Mong people" (Mu Cang Chai district, Tram Tau district, Van Chan district, Yen Bai province)... also announced in the list of national intangible cultural heritage this time.
Among these, the “Fire dancing festival of the Pa Then people” was recognized for the second time as a national intangible cultural heritage, for the Pa Then community in Hong Quang commune, Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang province. Previously, in the first phase, this heritage was recognized in the field of traditional festivals practiced by the Pa Then community in Tan Bac commune, Quang Binh district, Ha Giang province (document No. 5079/QD - BVHTTDL, dated December 27, 2012).
According to the Department of Cultural Heritage: Fire Jumping (Fire Ball) is a traditional festival of the Pa Then people - a unique festival, imbued with Shamanism, primitive and mysterious. Traditionally, Fire Jumping is associated with the shamanism ceremony - held for shamans to receive students and pass on their profession. In the Pa Then language, the shamanism ceremony is called "Poc Quo", the Fire Jumping festival is called "Po dinh hon a to". Today, this festival is widely known as the Fire Jumping Festival of the Pa Then people.
The Fire Dance Festival is also a cultural heritage representing ethnic groups, known as a unique identity of the Pa Then community. When mentioning the Fire Dance Festival, people immediately think of the Pa Then people and vice versa. This is also the only festival of the Pa Then people that is still maintained today.
The fire dancing festival is still held regularly by the Pa Then people, attracting a large number of tourists when exploring the unique culture of this ethnic group. It not only has the meaning of connecting the community but also preserves and maintains many traditional cultural values from generation to generation of the Pa Then people, creating a unique feature of the ethnic group...
