AI hat turns thoughts into text - science fiction becomes reality
Researchers at the University of Technology Sydney have developed a helmet-like head device that can read and convert brain waves into writing, thanks to a combination of two AI systems.
Technicians simply wear a helmet-like device, and sensors record the electrical waves emitted from your brain as you think. AI then processes the brain waves, combines deep learning models to “translate” the signals into words, and then uses a large language model (LLM) to complete the text.

The team says the current accuracy is around 75%, and hopes to raise it to 90% in the future.
This application could help improve performance in many fields. For example, in medicine , AI hats could help stroke patients or those who have lost the ability to communicate recover through technology.
The installation of the device is also more optimal when the AI hat can help avoid the need for implants or medical intervention like the old systems. For example, Elon Musk's Neuralink chip, which requires surgical implantation of the device into the skull. Or the fMRI machine that scans the brain, which is expensive and only used in hospitals. These methods often pose medical risks, are expensive, and are not convenient for ordinary people.
OpenAI Pays Oracle $30 Billion a Year for Data Center Services
OpenAI has signed a massive $30 billion-a-year deal with Oracle for its data center services, CEO Sam Altman confirmed in a post on X and the company blog.
The contract is part of a $500 billion data center project called Stargate, announced by OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank in January. The specific agreement between OpenAI and Oracle includes 4.5 gigawatts of capacity — the equivalent of two Hoover Dams, enough to power about 4 million homes.

The project will be deployed at the Stargate I site in Abilene, Texas, and does not include SoftBank in the $30 billion budget. To meet this massive demand, Oracle has invested nearly $50 billion in data center infrastructure over the past two years.
OpenAI said it has reached $10 billion in recurring revenue per year, nearly double last year. However, the Oracle commitment alone is three times its current revenue, not including other operating expenses. Shortly after the OpenAI deal, Oracle’s stock price hit an all-time high, making Larry Ellison the second-richest person in the world.
Galaxy Watch 8 annoys users who like cleanliness
Many Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 users have shared their annoyances with the watch. Specifically, the new watch has a design that easily accumulates dirt.
The round watch face sits high on the “squircle” case, with no protective bezel, creating sharp intersecting corners. These areas collect dust, lint, and grime very quickly, even with normal use. Cleaning requires a cotton swab and a lot of patience, but it’s still not possible to completely remove the dust from the edges of the screen.

Previously, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic could also be more difficult to clean because the rotating bezel is higher than the case. Compared to Samsung's competitors, the Google Pixel Watch 3 and Apple Watch Series 10 do not have this problem because of the rounded design, without sharp edges that can easily collect dust.
Aside from the issue of cleanliness, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is still a good-performing watch. So, it's still worth owning, if you're not a stickler for cleanliness.
