Students from Northwest University participate in the "Green Summer" campaign.

With the motto "Putting students at the center of all activities," the Student Union has focused on innovating the content and methods of its activities, implementing many good models and creative approaches, and arousing and developing the youthful energy, enthusiasm, intelligence, and sense of responsibility of students in their studies and volunteer activities for the community. Ms. Khong Quynh Huong, President of the Student Union of Tay Bac University, said: The Student Union of Tay Bac University has 4,652 members. The Union has focused on educating students on ideology and lifestyle. It organizes diverse, creative, and practical activities with content closely aligned with the needs of students and the practical situation of the university, creating conditions for students to play a pioneering and creative role in their studies, scientific research, and building a friendly, healthy educational environment and volunteering for the community.

One of the highlights of the Student Union's work is the "Five Good Students" movement, aiming to build a well-rounded student image with the following criteria: good academics, good ethics, good skills, good integration, and good physical fitness. In the 2024-2025 academic year, the school had 75 students who achieved the "Five Good Students" title at the provincial level; 342 students who achieved the title at the school level; and 2 students who won the "January Star" Award at the national level.

The Youth Union and Student Association of Tay Bac University donated funds to support students affected by floods.

Phan Van Long, a student in class K64 of the University of Primary Education H, who has achieved the "Excellent Student" title at the provincial level for two consecutive years, shared: "For teacher training students, practicing the five criteria helps me perfect my teaching skills and classroom confidence. At the same time, participating in volunteer trips has also helped me mature and become much more confident."

Furthermore, the Student Union of Tay Bac University focuses on creating opportunities and enhancing integration skills through talent-based clubs. Since the beginning of the year, the Union has established two new clubs: the Tay Bac Calligraphy Club and the English Club - TEC, meeting the practical needs of teacher training students and the trend of integration. Nguyen Do Thao Anh, a K64 student majoring in English Education and the Head of the English Club - TEC, said: The club has 80 members who share a passion for learning English. They maintain a bi-weekly meeting schedule with flexible content, including group discussions on various topics, debates, and interactive games to improve English communication skills. In addition, the club is the core organizer of extracurricular events like the "Golden Bell Challenge" in English. This helps students improve their foreign language proficiency, develop organizational skills, and build confidence in public speaking.

Students from Northwest University are assisting officials in Muong Sai commune in using AI tools to handle their work.

Regular volunteer activities are organized, giving students the opportunity to demonstrate the pioneering spirit and dedication of youth, such as: Sharing in Winter, Loving in Spring; Happy Tet; Toilets for Children... In 2025 alone, the Association coordinated the "Green Summer" campaign, attracting more than 3,000 student volunteers who lived, ate, and worked alongside people in Long Phieng and Muong Sai communes; implemented "Lighting Up Villages" projects; held zero-cost markets; provided free English, computer, and life skills classes for children; and conducted digital transformation training to help commune officials and people access new technologies. The total value of resources mobilized for the campaign was nearly 300 million VND.

Mui Thao Dieu, a student in class K64 at the University of Early Childhood Education B, said: "Volunteer activities provide us with opportunities to utilize our youthful energy and knowledge to contribute to the community, thereby enhancing social responsibility, understanding life, nurturing a spirit of dedication, and fostering a sense of contributing to building a better society."

It is evident that the Student Union of Tay Bac University has been affirming its role as a reliable companion, creating a favorable environment for students to comprehensively develop, contribute, and grow.
