Attending the ceremony were First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez; Politburo member, President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernández; Politburo member, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba Manuel Marrero Cruz; Politburo member, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Roberto Morales Ojeda; leaders of the Cuban Party and State, Cuban socio-political organizations, representatives of the diplomatic corps and officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy, the Vietnamese youth union and businesses in Cuba.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo, Central Secretary and Head of the Central Economic Production Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, affirmed that the victory in the spring of 1975 is a historical symbol of the 20th century, demonstrating the aspiration for independence, freedom and the strength of great solidarity of the Vietnamese people.
He emphasized that Cuba is proud to be the first country to recognize and establish an embassy next to the Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam since 1969.

The Cuban leaders reviewed milestones in the special solidarity relationship between the two countries, such as the historic visit of Leader Fidel Castro to the liberated area of Quang Tri in 1973, the establishment of the Solidarity Committee with South Vietnam in 1965, as well as the presence of many works and schools named after Vietnam in Cuba.
Comrade Broche Lorenzo reaffirmed his commitment to continue promoting comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, especially in theoretical exchanges on building socialism, with bilateral theoretical seminars to take place in May.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long expressed his deep gratitude for the solidarity and respect that the Cuban Party, Government and people have shown for Vietnam, demonstrated through the solemn organization of the ceremony, as well as the sending of a high-level delegation led by Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa to attend the celebration in Vietnam.
Emphasizing that the victory of April 30, 1975 was the result of the aspiration for independence and the indomitable will of the entire nation under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Ambassador Le Quang Long also affirmed that the aspiration to control one's destiny helped the Vietnamese people gain victory in the long resistance war and also helped the country confidently enter the era of integration, growth and development.
Expressing gratitude for Cuba's generous help and support for Vietnam in the past resistance war to protect and unify the country, as well as in the later reconstruction and development of the country, the Ambassador affirmed that the Vietnam-Cuba solidarity is a symbol of the impartial and pure international relationship that needs to be preserved and promoted by the next generations of the two countries.

On this occasion, the Cuban Party and Government sent warm congratulations on Vietnam's development achievements, believing that Vietnam will successfully organize the 14th Party Congress in early 2026 and realize the goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045.
