The dispatch clearly stated that, implementing the Prime Minister's direction in the dispatches No. 112/CD-TTg and 117/CD-TTg, along with the dispatch of the Ministry of Construction and the internal direction of the Department, the units must immediately deploy timely and effective response measures to the impact of storm Wipha.
Vietnam Road Administration requests units to:
Thoroughly implement superiors' instructions: Organize propaganda and dissemination of the contents of the telegrams to all cadres, employees and related units to synchronously implement measures to prevent, combat and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Checking river and stream crossings: Strengthening inspection of the operating status of bridges, culverts, tunnels, spillways, etc. to promptly divert traffic, warn, and restrict traffic in unsafe conditions. Large bridges such as Bai Chay and Tan Vu-Lach Huyen bridges need to pay special attention to monitoring wind and storm developments and water levels.
Pay special attention to weak bridges: Bridges that have been in operation for many years, with foundations that have not been built with modern technology, and are located in areas at risk of erosion, need to be inspected regularly to detect early signs of damage and safety risks.
Organize a 24/7 response force: Coordinate with the local Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue to organize a shift, ensure continuous and safe traffic, and regularly update the storm situation to the Department of Roads via hotline 1900.54.55.70 - extension 3.
The Vietnam Road Administration emphasized the spirit of proactiveness, close coordination and determination to minimize damage caused by storm No. 3, especially in the field of road transport.
