Previously, the Tu Luong Xam Traditional Festival in 2025 included traditional ceremonies taking place at 8:00 a.m. on February 12; the traditional procession of King Ngo Quyen took place from 5:30 p.m. on the same day.

The Tu Luong Xam relic complex - Ngo Quyen's headquarters in 938, was ranked as a special national relic by the Prime Minister on January 17, 2025.

During the festival, there will be cultural and artistic activities such as volleyball competitions, tug of war, human chess, sack races, calligraphy, folk games...

According to custom, every year, the traditional Tu Luong Xam festival is held from January 16 to 18 with many unique cultural features.

In which, the traditional procession includes 7 processions of wards with relics worshiping King Ngo Quyen with full sacrificial objects: divine flags, gongs, drums, halberds, eight-tone instruments, dragon pavilions, parasols, eight-signals, palanquins and eight-flag processions to Tu Ca - Tu Luong Xam relic cluster.

The traditional procession has been passed down through generations, expressing the deep affection and respect of the people in the region for the great contributions of King Ngo Quyen.

Tu Luong Xam special national relic is one of 22 relics in Hai An district worshiping King Ngo Quyen and is honored as "Tu Ca" - the leading place to worship King Ngo Quyen. Historical evidence still remains about a resounding Bach Dang River battle, with many great historical values ​​left for posterity.

The relic complex is located on a large, high land. The main facade of the relic complex faces east towards Bach Dang estuary. Legend has it that in preparation for the Bach Dang battle in 938, Ngo Quyen chose this place as a place to store food and set up a headquarters to observe and command the historic Bach Dang battle.

One of the things that makes the historical value of the special national relic - Tu Luong Xam relic cluster is that this place preserves artifacts throughout the long period of building and defending the country of the nation, including 125 artifacts, antiques and 25 royal decrees dating from 1522 to 1924 of the Le So, Mac, Le Trung Hung, Tay Son, Nguyen dynasties. Especially the 3 stakes - considered to be evidence of the historic Bach Dang battle in 938.

With those values ​​and meanings, in 1986, Tu Luong Xam was ranked as a National Historical and Cultural Relic by the Ministry of Culture (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ). In 2022, the traditional Tu Luong Xam festival was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

King Ngo Quyen is one of the 14 typical national heroes of Vietnam. In 938, he was the leader of the people to defeat the Southern Han army in the historic battle on Bach Dang River, ending more than 1,000 years of Chinese domination, opening a long-term era of independence and autonomy for the nation. With Ngo Quyen's merits, many dynasties bestowed upon him the title "Supreme Supreme King", the Ngo King, the founder of the nation.
