Strengthening and unleashing the power of national unity.

Today (May 12th), in Hanoi, the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, for the term 2026-2031, officially opened.

Taking place immediately after the resounding success of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, after more than a year of implementing the Resolution of the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and nearly a year of operating under the new organizational model,

The Congress is a significant political event that brings together the will and aspirations of all strata of the people, ushering in a new term of operation for the Front's institutional apparatus with its great position, stature, and responsibility after completing the policy of reorganizing political and social organizations and mass associations.

Looking back at the glorious history of our nation, especially over the past 40 years of steadfastly implementing the reform policy, we proudly affirm that the Vietnam Fatherland Front has always been a solid bridge between the Party, the State, and the people, playing a central role in uniting and strengthening the immense power of national unity. Under the "common roof" of the Fatherland Front, every social stratum and every force has affirmed its irreplaceable and important role.

Under the wise and absolute leadership of our Party, the Front operates with increasing effectiveness, depth, and a sustainable vision. The more arduous the revolutionary path, the more flexible and creative the Front's organizational methods become, and the greater the strength of the great national unity, clearly demonstrating its continuity and alignment with the great goals set by the country.

Overcoming the complex changes of the times, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has left a strong mark, especially in propaganda and mobilization work, creating consensus among the people regarding the restructuring of administrative units and local governments at two levels. It has also made decisive contributions to the resounding success of the elections for National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levels, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of social supervision and criticism. The Front has always demonstrated exemplary leadership in implementing the policy of streamlining the apparatus, staying close to the grassroots, and creating the foundation for the new government to quickly stabilize and operate effectively and efficiently.

While we are proud of these great achievements, we must also frankly acknowledge the shortcomings ahead. These include the difficult living conditions of a segment of the population, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority regions; the widening gap between rich and poor; increasingly severe, complex, and unpredictable non-traditional challenges; the decline in morality among some officials and Party members, which somewhat undermines public trust; and, most importantly, the continued subversive activities of hostile forces, who seek to distort and divide the national unity.

Entering a new era, with the Party and State consolidating their organization and establishing the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and with central mass organizations directly leading political and social organizations and mass associations, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has been elevated to a new level and position, but also faces many urgent demands. Therefore, mobilizing the masses cannot be limited to superficial movements, but must delve into resolving the pressing and essential issues of the people at the grassroots level, using the satisfaction and well-being of the people as the highest measure of effectiveness.

Leveraging the advantages of digital transformation, the Fatherland Front must always maintain a close and inseparable bond with the people, promptly and thoroughly understanding the thoughts and aspirations of all social strata, both locally and online. Social supervision and criticism need to be elevated, linked to the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights of the people, especially monitoring leaders, officials, and Party members in their moral conduct, lifestyle, and performance of their duties. Social criticism activities must be carried out early and remotely. Major campaigns must closely adhere to national goals regarding digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy development, and sustainable poverty reduction.

These immense responsibilities can only be accomplished when the organizational structure and staff of the Fatherland Front are built and strengthened in a streamlined, powerful, and efficient manner. The merger and consolidation of the system presents challenges, but also opportunities for the Fatherland Front to stabilize its organization, build more transparent and harmonious coordination mechanisms, and cultivate a staff with stronger political resolve and greater dedication, guided by the principles of "respecting the people, being close to the people, understanding the people, learning from the people, and being responsible to the people."

Our country is facing new historical opportunities, challenges, and prospects. In this context, the Party's 14th National Congress documents emphasized the strength of national unity, stressing the need to continue renewing the content and methods of operation, and deepening the core political role of the Front and socio-political organizations in promoting the people's right to self-governance.

Under the wise leadership of the Party and a streamlined and incisive organizational structure, we firmly believe that this strength will steer the revolutionary ship of our country to new horizons of development, prosperity, and happiness.
