At 9:00 a.m. this morning, March 6, Hanoi National University opened the second registration portal for the HSA exam for candidates to choose the exam sessions taking place in May and June.

The expected number of seats for these exams is about 51,800. The exam locations are located in 11 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh , Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh.

By 10:15 a.m. the same day, most of the exam locations in Hanoi were full. Exam locations in the provinces still had vacancies for candidates from other provinces. The registration portal for the competency assessment exam will remain open until the exam session has enough candidates or will close 14-18 days before the official exam.

According to the Hanoi National University Examination Center, after nearly 2 hours of registration, candidates from 58 provinces and cities registered to take the exam. 10 provinces and cities with outstanding number of registered candidates include: Hanoi (36.1%), Nam Dinh (6.7%), Thai Binh (5.8%), Thanh Hoa (5.4%), Nghe An (5.1%), Hai Duong (4.9%), Hung Yen (4.3%), Hai Phong (4.1%), Bac Giang (3.6%), Vinh Phuc (3.6%), Bac Ninh (3.4%).

As of 10:50 a.m. today, the total number of candidate records recorded on the system is 146,842, of which 60,933 are candidates studying grade 12 from 2023 onwards and 85,909 are candidates studying grade 12 in 2024. The number of candidates who have completed the exam session selection is 95,058, reaching 99% of the designed seats for the 6 exam sessions in 2024.

At 9:42 a.m., the largest number of accesses was 83,667 accounts, using 204,189 access rights on multiple devices, causing candidates to have their registration interrupted. According to Professor Nguyen Tien Thao, at a time, only one account could log in. However, there was a phenomenon of 3 to 8 people using one account to log in, which affected the overall system.

Professor Thao also said that candidates cannot edit or change their full name, date of birth, gender, citizen identification number, portrait photo, citizen identification photo in their profile after selecting the exam session. Exam fees can be paid within 96 hours of selecting the exam session through the online payment system with no transaction fees. The Hanoi National University Examination Center will notify the candidate's registration number, exam room, and exam location on the exam account 7 days before the exam.

According to the 2024 exam plan, the first exam (HSA 401) will take place on March 23 and 24. Items allowed in the exam room include an ID card, an Atlas of Vietnam Geography (without any additional characters), and a simple handheld calculator. This calculator must not have a text editing function and must not have a memory card to store data, must not have a transmission and reception function, and can only perform arithmetic, trigonometric and simple calculations.
