Peaceful life on Tua Chua stone plateau

VOV.VN - Ta Phin Commune, Tua Chua District, Dien Bien Province, with about 70% of its area being limestone mountains, visitors will be very excited when setting foot on the Tua Chua stone plateau. It seems that there will be hardly any life among the layers of cat ear rocks, but this is the residential area of the Mong ethnic group for many generations.

Ta Phin Commune is a mountainous area of Tua Chua district, about 150km from Dien Bien Phu city center.

The area is mainly rocky mountains, with few rivers and streams, and limited arable land. Despite the harsh natural conditions, the people of Ta Phin stone plateau have persevered and overcome difficulties.

Ta Phin commune has more than 700 hectares of food crop area, of which 470 hectares are corn growing area on rocky mountains.

Although agricultural conditions are difficult, thanks to hard work and creativity, each crop season, the arable land area increases, covering the rocky mountains with lush green young corn sprouts.

When the rainy season comes, it is time for people to cultivate, carry soil into natural rock holes, and pick up rocks to stack around to prevent soil from washing away.

Through each crop, the corn area increases, the lush green color of the newly sprouted corn shoots covers the cat ear rocky plateau, creating a strong vitality.

In addition to increasing production and expanding the cultivated area on the rocky mountains, in recent years, along with the development of society, the natural landscape, history, and traditional culture of the ethnic minorities here have gradually become known to tourists from all over the world.
