After storm No. 3, due to the impact of the storm's circulation, major floods occurred on the Ba Che River, locally isolating many residential areas, inundating 835 households in Ba Che town and neighboring communes, and damaging about 150 hectares of crops in the entire district. Currently, the work of overcoming the consequences of the flood is being vigorously implemented and people's lives have basically returned to normal.
Previously, implementing the motto "3 before, 4 on-site", the Party Committee, the government and the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Ba Che district together with communes and towns have synchronously and effectively implemented plans and projects to prevent natural disasters, storms and floods, preventing human losses and ensuring absolute safety of people's lives.
In particular, the core and leading roles are played by the information forces, the Police, the Army, the Youth Union members, the militia, the disaster prevention and control shock troops, and the security and order protection forces at the grassroots level. The forces always proactively coordinate and cooperate, and perform well the tasks of information, propaganda, and warning of natural disasters and floods; help people reinforce their houses, move assets and people in risky areas to safe areas; perform well the tasks of ensuring security, order, and traffic safety; and safety in flooded areas.
Ms. Trieu Thi Ba, Na Bap village, Don Dac commune shared: Right after storm No. 3, a big flood came. However, because the people were informed by the officials to proactively take measures to prevent and combat natural disasters, fortunately there were no human casualties.
In Thanh Son commune, where about 96% of the population is ethnic minorities, the area was basically not damaged much by storm No. 3. Due to the impact of storm No. 3's circulation, facing the risk of major floods, the commune proactively coordinated with local people to move assets and evacuate 11 households at risk of flooding to safe areas for shelter.
Although there were no casualties, after the flood receded, many roads were left in disarray with mud, garbage, and fallen trees, causing traffic jams. In order to quickly overcome the consequences of the rain and flood and stabilize people's lives, the leaders of Ba Che district directly went to the scene, directed forces, mobilized vehicles and human resources to urgently overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods.
Directly inspecting and directing the work of overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 and the rain and floods after the storm, Chairman of Ba Che District People's Committee - Do Manh Hung requested: The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue of communes and towns to continue to inspect, review, and fully and accurately count all damages; handle the environment around areas where people live; focus on quickly repairing inter-village and inter-commune traffic routes, flooded and landslide-prone roads; repairing the power grid system; communication and internet systems, ensuring smooth information, serving the direction and operation, production and daily life of the people...
With the spirit of urgency, quickly overcoming the consequences, soon stabilizing the people's lives as well as other activities in the area, the Party Committee and the government of Ba Che district resolutely focused on directing agencies, units, functional forces and communes and towns to mobilize all forces, means, machinery... to overcome the consequences caused by floods.
“We have mobilized the entire political system, agencies, units, and functional forces of the district to urgently carry out environmental sanitation work, repair, and support people to overcome the consequences caused by storms, rain, and floods, promptly stabilizing the lives of people in the area. By the evening of September 13, the electricity and internet systems were restored, and on September 14, all work of clearing fallen trees and cleaning the environment was completed,” said Thanh Son Commune Secretary Trinh Xuan Tu.
“Leaders and armed forces from the district to the commune have always stood side by side with our people before, during and after the storm and flood. People have also promoted a proactive spirit, so now life is gradually returning to normal,” said Ms. Trieu Thi Ba, Na Bap village, Don Dac commune.
