By the end of 2025, Long Thanh Airport and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway must be basically completed synchronously.

(DN)- On May 21, after inspecting the construction sites of the projects: Long Thanh International Airport, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, the working delegation of the Ministry of Construction led by Minister Tran Hong Minh worked with the Provincial People's Committee and related units on the progress of the two projects.

According to the Department of Economics and Construction Investment Management (Ministry of Construction), currently, items of component projects 1 and 4 of the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1 are being accelerated and will be basically completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.

At Project Component 2, the flight management works and air traffic control tower have been constructed to a height of over 107/115m, expected to be completed before September 30. The auxiliary works will have equipment installed from June 2025.

Regarding the Component 3 Project, the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said that to date, the total value of the completed volume has reached more than 34 trillion VND, reaching more than 44% of the total project value. Of which, the passenger terminal project will be completed before December 31, 2025, then the installation and testing of the equipment system will be carried out.

The first runway was completed 3 months ahead of schedule. For the second runway, ACV is implementing the procedures to strive to start construction by the end of May.

For the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway Project through the province, currently, the output of the two component projects reaches 35-51%.

At the meeting, the investors and contractors of the two projects also requested Dong Nai province to support and supplement the source of construction stone materials to serve the construction of the projects. ACV proposed to soon expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to serve traffic connection when Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 is completed and put into operation.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha said that the province will strive to complete the site clearance as soon as possible and quickly relocate technical infrastructure so that units can speed up the construction of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project to open the section through the province to technical traffic by the end of 2025.

Concluding the meeting, Minister Tran Hong Minh assessed that the Long Thanh Airport Project has had many positive changes. The bid packages have been synchronized, the construction units have coordinated well, and there have been no conflicts over the site during the construction process. The units continue to make efforts to basically complete the project by the end of 2025.

Along with that, the construction of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project also needs to be accelerated. In particular, the section in front of Long Thanh Airport needs to be completed synchronously by the end of 2025 to connect traffic to the airport when it is put into operation.
