On the afternoon of March 24, Military Hospital 175 coordinated with the People's Army Publishing House and the family of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh to introduce the book Journey for Peace.
The book is the heart and soul of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, recounting stories about the process from the first days of Vietnam's participation in United Nations peacekeeping activities.

As one of the first members of the 5-person team of the Peacekeeping Center and also a character appearing in Mr. Nguyen Chi Vinh's memoir, Major General Hoang Kim Phung, former director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, said according to his observations:
"In the three months since its launch, Journey for Peace has spread strongly to many readers.
This may have many reasons. Because contained in the book are stories about the beautiful image of Vietnamese soldiers, Uncle Ho's soldiers in the eyes of international friends.
Images of cool green vegetable beds grown on arid land in Africa, and schools built by the hands of Vietnamese "blue beret" soldiers in remote Africa during their spare time have been included in the book.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and his last book
According to Mr. Phung, the work was widely spread partly because it successfully recreated those things and partly because of the great influence of Mr. Nguyen Chi Vinh.
It can be said that Mr. Vinh is a strategist on national defense and on protecting the country in the new era. He is known as the chief architect, the one who laid the foundation for the birth of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Force.
In the field of diplomacy , Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh has successfully implemented the Party and army's guidelines for increasingly deep international integration.
Mr. Nam's tight handshake
Journey for Peace affirms the correct viewpoints, guidelines, thinking and strategic vision of our Party and State in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Through each story in the book, readers can see more clearly the silent sacrifices and the spirit of solidarity without borders of the Vietnamese Green Berets.
Major General Nguyen Hong Son, former director of Military Hospital 175, recalls memories with Mr. Nam Vinh (the affectionate name of Mr. Nguyen Chi Vinh), especially during the 10 years he was the director of Military Hospital 175.
Until now, many people still ask why Military Hospital 175 is the "pioneer" unit, organizing Field Hospital 2.1 to participate in United Nations peacekeeping operations?
Mr. Son said it all started with the "fateful" dinner in early spring 2014 that he and Major General Tran Quoc Viet were invited to by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh.
"I remember that day, Mr. Nam asked about and shared the difficulties of Military Hospital 175 in the context of that time, talked about the new tasks of the army, defense and international integration, including the issue of establishing a level 2 field hospital.
The tight handshake of Mr. Nam that day gave me a strong determination and full of excitement and eagerness. Perhaps even though he could not feel completely secure, he certainly felt warm in his heart" - Mr. Son recalled.
During the implementation of Field Hospital 2.1 in Bentiu (South Sudan), Mr. Son and his colleagues carried out a series of "civil mobilization" activities:
"Being close to local people in many ways: medical examination and treatment, giving gifts, teaching, increasing production. Difficult and severe cases that are successfully treated are given cows, goats... by the people so that every time we go out, the greetings, the looks, the waving: "Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh - Number one" are filled with pride."
