Water outage this weekend in 12 districts of Ho Chi Minh City.

Saigon Water Supply Corporation has just announced the implementation of maintenance and repair work on the water supply system.

Accordingly, Saigon Water Supply Corporation (SAWACO) announced that it will carry out the replacement of the flume sluice gate valves supplying water to the clean water storage tanks at the Thu Duc water treatment plant, phase 2.

Simultaneously, maintenance and repair work will be carried out on the water treatment plant to ensure safe production during the Lunar New Year holiday. The work is expected to take place from 0:00 on January 16th to 2:30 on January 16th (Sunday).

During maintenance, there may be low water pressure and water supply interruptions in some areas.

Specifically, the entirety of District 1, District 3, District 5, District 10, Phu Nhuan District, and several wards in Binh Thanh, Tan Binh, District 4, District 6, District 8, District 11, and Thu Duc City will experience water supply disruptions.

Areas with weak water pressure include Binh Hung and Phong Phu communes (Binh Chanh district) and Ward 2 (Tan Son Nhat airport area - Tan Binh district).

According to SAWACO, due to the specific conditions of the water supply area, the time it takes to restore water flow in the network in some areas far from the source will be slower than the main timeframe mentioned above.

To minimize the impact on people's daily lives, the Saigon Water Supply Corporation has implemented a plan to increase water supply using water tankers in key areas, especially hospitals and centralized quarantine zones.

Simultaneously, regulate and support from the transmission network, closely monitor developments on the water supply network to coordinate water resources according to the actual situation, and proactively coordinate to resolve any problems that arise on the water supply network.
