On December 1, information from the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Tinh Province Police said that, related to the case of abuse of power while performing official duties that occurred in Thach Bang Commune (now Loc Ha Town, Loc Ha District, Ha Tinh), this unit has just issued a decision to prosecute, temporarily detain and search the residence of Mr. Pham Cong Thanh, former official in charge of commercial services of the People's Committee of Thach Bang Commune.

As Thanh Nien reported, previously, the inspection team of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee discovered a number of violations in land, financial and budget management occurring in the old Thach Bang commune, such as: allocating residential land not included in the land use plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee; allocating land and granting land use right certificates to many households and individuals without household registration in Thach Bang commune...
The authorities determined that the above violations had caused very serious consequences, leaving behind consequences that are difficult to overcome. Immediately after the conclusion of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee on the violations, the Ha Tinh Provincial Police Department's Investigation Police Agency began an investigation.
In June 2023, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Tinh Province issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Phan Dinh Cuong, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Bang Commune (term 2011 - 2016), to investigate the crime of abuse of power while performing official duties.
Expanding the case, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Tinh Province Police continued to issue a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain two officials, former Chief Accountants of the People's Committee of Thach Bang Commune, Tran Van Hieu and Bui Ngoc Anh, to investigate the same crime of abuse of power while performing official duties.
