With the smooth coordination of the Neurology-Stroke department team, the patient was saved and recovered well.
Patient Son Phuong (51 years old), residing in Tai Van commune, Can Tho city, was transferred from a private hospital in a coma after cardiac arrest. After successful cardiopulmonary resuscitation, doctors discovered that the patient had a subarachnoid hemorrhage due to a ruptured cerebral aneurysm.
The patient was resuscitated and after 3 days, the patient regained consciousness, the endotracheal tube was removed and he was breathing through nasal oxygen. However, the patient still had severe headaches so he was transferred to the Neurology - Stroke Department for further monitoring and intensive treatment.

Here, the patient was indicated for digital subtraction angiography (DSA), which recorded a vertebral artery aneurysm measuring approximately 5.92x5.32mm.
Faced with that situation, the neurovascular intervention team of the Department of Neurology - Stroke quickly consulted and performed endovascular intervention using coil placement technique to completely close the aneurysm.
Endovascular intervention using the technique was performed safely and successfully, post-interventional images showed no more blood flow into the aneurysm.
The patient is currently recovering well and the headache symptoms have disappeared. The patient has been discharged from the hospital in a stable condition, alert and able to function normally.
