To celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), the Da Nang Museum is organizing an art exhibition with the theme "Colors of Quang Nam Land," aiming to meet the public's need for art appreciation during the holiday; and to honor the beauty of the land and people of the city.

Participating in the exhibition, painter and sculptor Dinh Gia Thang presents four works: "Accelerating Together ," "Praying for Peace ," "Spring of Peace ," and "Unity in the New Era ." Each work is like a slice of his creative journey, showing the movement in his thinking and artistic approach, from form to the depth of the message.

Among them, "Prayer for Peace" is the newest work, being introduced to the public for the first time. The artwork is designed with a right-skewed composition to create a focal point, with masses that both converge and maintain a certain degree of openness. As a result, the overall effect is not enclosed but evokes a sense of movement, guiding the viewer's gaze.

The work was born from concerns about the current situation where humanity is facing many upheavals such as natural disasters, wildfires, wars, storms, and floods… It is not only a story of the world , but also reflects what the Vietnamese people have experienced.

In this overall context, the lotus flower is placed at the center as a symbol of goodness. Surrounding it are small, fragile human figures, evoking a sense of vulnerability to nature and the times, but also revealing a yearning for peace.

“Amidst the surrounding disasters, I chose the lotus flower as a symbol of goodness. The people within it are fragile and vulnerable, and what I long for most is favorable weather, a peaceful world, and no more war, so that everyone can live in peace,” shared sculptor Dinh Gia Thang.

The "Colors of Quang Nam" exhibition brings together 36 painters and sculptors, showcasing 43 works in various materials such as oil paint, silk, acrylic, graphic art, sculptures, and reliefs.

The artworks reflect the life, landscapes, historical sites, and urban rhythm of Da Nang, thereby revealing a multifaceted picture of the city and its development journey after 51 years of national reunification.

The exhibition will take place at the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts (78 Le Duan Street, Hai Chau Ward) from April 15th to May 5th.

The artwork is created in a collage style, combining various materials from newspaper and magazine images about Da Nang, resulting in a visually rich and emotionally resonant whole. The overlapping and interwoven layers of images reflect the very rhythm of life in a young city, where past and present, nature and urban life coexist.

Images of high-rise buildings and urban life are juxtaposed with elements of water, creating a gentle connection between people and the landscape. The contrasting colors not only create a visual effect but also evoke two parallel moods: on one side, the vibrant, diverse energy of a developing city; on the other, a peaceful retreat where people can find balance.

“I want to portray Da Nang as a city that is both youthful and dynamic, but also a livable city where one can work and develop. At the same time, it should have peaceful spaces to recharge and balance life. The city's cultural diversity and openness will also be a foundation for the rich development of fine arts,” artist Cat Tuong expressed.

The exhibition is held in a special context, marking the convergence of the city's painters and sculptors following changes in administrative and cultural spaces. Through the unique perspectives and emotions of each individual, images of Da Nang emerge that are both familiar and fresh, contributing to enriching the art scene in the context of integration.
