Empowering young people to tell cultural stories.
In April 2026, the "Cham Festival - Dance of Love" event at the Cham Sculpture Museum attracted a large audience with its artistic performances, heritage experiences, and community interactions. Through these engaging and interactive approaches, Cham culture was vividly retold.
Ms. Le Thi Thu Trang, Director of the Cham Sculpture Museum, said this is a key activity under the graduation thesis project "Communication Project to Enhance Young People's Understanding of Cham Culture" carried out by a group of students fromFPT University Da Nang over more than 4 months.
During the implementation process, the museum, along with the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board and the Cham community, played a connecting role, providing professional support, helping students access materials, develop content, and guide the presentation in a way that is suitable for young audiences while still ensuring the accuracy of the original culture.
Student Duong Quoc Le Khoa, representing the project, said that the support of the museum and heritage conservationists helped the group perfect the program, making it more experiential while maintaining cultural depth. "For students, being able to work with experts in culture and heritage is invaluable," Khoa shared.

Also in April 2026, at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum (part of the Da Nang Museum), the exhibition "Sinh Village Folk Art" continued to demonstrate the museum's role in supporting the creative ideas of young people. The exhibition, organized by a group of students from FPT University Da Nang, combined folk art with interactive technology to bring Sinh Village folk paintings closer to the public.
Student Bui Le Khanh Vi, a member of the project, said that since the beginning of the project, the group has hoped to bring Sinh village paintings into a professional art space. According to Vi, the openness and support from museum staff, especially the professional feedback during the content development process, have helped the group become more confident in their journey to spread the value of this heritage.
Besides creative projects by young people, the Da Nang Museum also organizes many engaging experiential activities such as "Touching the Memories of March," beadwork workshops on March 8th, etc. The "Journey of History" program, in collaboration with schools, also demonstrates efforts to bring heritage out of the museum space and make it more accessible in school life.

The museum's "extended arm".
Today, museums are not only preserving heritage but are also creating communities that participate in continuing to tell cultural stories.
Ms. Le Thi Thu Trang believes that when young people are directly involved in the process of creating content about heritage, they become both recipients and bridges for spreading culture to the community. According to Ms. Trang, collaborating with students, young artists, or creative groups also contributes to refreshing the image of museums in the eyes of the public.
"From a space traditionally focused on academics and exhibitions, museums are gradually becoming open cultural spaces that are more interactive, experiential, and connective to the community. This is a necessary direction to make heritage more accessible in contemporary life," Ms. Trang remarked.

Sharing the same view, Director of the Da Nang Museum Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien said that in recent years, museums in Vietnam and around the world have been facing many demands for innovation: embracing diverse voices, increasing the application of digital technology, expanding regional and international connections, building interactive models, new thinking in storytelling at museums, co-creating with the community…
According to Mr. Thien, the connection between museums and the community not only helps to promote the value of cultural institutions but also creates conditions for people to directly participate in the process of heritage preservation. "This is also a valuable opportunity to share resources, learn from experience, expand interdisciplinary cooperation, and more importantly, nurture a dynamic, creative, and sustainable community that participates with museums as 'extended arms' in the work of preserving and promoting national cultural values," Mr. Thien shared.

In the coming period, the Da Nang Museum will continue to enhance interactive and experiential elements in its exhibition spaces, invest in online communication, promote the application of digital technology, and expand international cooperation. In addition, the role of the community will continue to be emphasized in museum activities to create cultural spaces that are more accessible, dynamic, and connected to the modern public.
