Recorded on the morning of June 13, at the headquarters of Lam Dong Provincial Youth Union (Quang Trung Street, Ward 9, Da Lat City), an ancient pine tree with a base diameter of about 80cm was uprooted and fell onto the fence. Fortunately, most of the tree trunk was still on the sidewalk, not affecting passersby.
Also on Quang Trung Street, a tree with a base diameter of about 40cm was uprooted due to strong winds.
On Nguyen Van Troi Street, heavy rain and strong winds caused two trees with large root diameters of 40-70cm to fall, damaging the electric poles and cables.
Right from the beginning of the 2025 rainy season, the People's Committee of Da Lat City decided to allow the cutting down of many trees at risk of falling in the area.
Previously, in Ha Lam commune (Da Huoai district, Lam Dong province), heavy rain accompanied by strong winds caused a 20 meter tall tree to be uprooted and a street light pole to fall across National Highway 20. Fortunately, at the time of the incident, there were no traffic participants, however, traffic on National Highway 20 was partially congested.
According to the Lam Dong Province Hydrometeorological Station, during this time there is a possibility of landslides, land subsidence in hilly areas, mountains, roads, and passes with steep slopes, localized flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, in urban areas, especially in Da Lat City, Bao Loc, Lac Duong, Don Duong, Lam Ha, Da Huoai districts...
