Da Nang 'joins hands' with leading technology partners to modernize public services

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, Ho Ky Minh, the city has just put into operation a two-level local government model, marking a milestone in the process of administrative reform and modern government organization. In that context, digital transformation has become a key factor, an important foundation for building an effective and efficient government that best serves the people and businesses.

The workshop "Transformation and modernization of public services in the 4.0 era" was organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang in coordination with technology partners on the afternoon of July 11.

Over the past years, Da Nang has achieved many outstanding results in the digital transformation roadmap, becoming one of the leading localities in the country in building digital government, digital economy and digital society. However, to meet the requirements of the new development stage, the city needs to continue to innovate more strongly.

“That requires close cooperation between the city government and technology partners, domestic and foreign organizations, to jointly develop advanced technology solutions, especially cloud computing and AI/GenAI, in managing and providing public services in a smart and effective way,” Mr. Ho Ky Minh emphasized.

At the workshop, experts from leading technology companies such as AMD, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cloud Kinetics shared international experiences, introduced advanced technology application models, especially cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI/GenAI), in the process of modernizing public services in Da Nang. At the same time, connecting with agencies, units and organizations in the area to promote cooperation in implementing innovative solutions to serve the digital transformation process in the locality.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang Le Son Phong, by 2024, the city's rate of full-process online public services will be the highest in the country, at 95%. The rate of full-process online processing of records will be nearly 60% and the locality will be chosen to host a conference chaired by the Prime Minister to share experiences in providing nationwide online public services.

The goal by 2030 is that Da Nang will be in the group of 5 leading provinces and cities in the country and the group of leading cities in Southeast Asia in terms of scientific , technological and innovation potential. The digital transformation index, e-Government development, network information security and semiconductor design, and local artificial intelligence application will be in the group of 3 provinces and cities; the local innovation index PII will be in the group of 5 leading provinces and cities in the country.

To achieve the above goal, Mr. Le Son Phong said, Da Nang City is urgently and resolutely perfecting and effectively implementing policy mechanisms; eliminating all thoughts, concepts, and barriers that are hindering development; turning policy mechanisms into a competitive advantage in developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

“At the same time, Da Nang City increases investment and completes infrastructure for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. Develops and utilizes high-quality human resources and talents to meet the requirements of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development,” Mr. Le Son Phong emphasized.
