After more than a decade of organization, DIFF has become a major tourism event brand of Da Nang, not only helping to promote the destination but also playing a “leverage” role in developing services and the economy. A series of festivals and events such as DIFF contributes significantly to increasing revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, retail, and travel.
By the end of May 2025, revenue and the number of tourists maintained a steady growth momentum, affirming the important role of the tourism industry in the city's economic and service development. Revenue from accommodation and catering services is estimated at VND 13,128 billion, accounting for 19.8% of total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue, up 24.4% over the same period last year.
Of which, accommodation revenue is estimated at VND 5,202 billion, up 38.9%, food and beverage revenue is estimated at VND 7,925 billion, up 16.4% over the same period. The total number of guests served by accommodation establishments is estimated at 4.6 million, up 20.7% over the same period in 2024. This result affirms the attractiveness of the Da Nang tourism brand, while also showing the effectiveness of promoting, advertising and diversifying tourism products in the context of a strong market recovery.
According to the Da Nang City Statistics Office, accommodation, catering and travel activities continued to record positive growth, especially thanks to the strong return of international visitors by air and sea. The DIFF event, along with the beach tourism season and other cultural activities, played an important role in attracting visitors and increasing tourism revenue.
Ms. Tran Thi Le Trinh, Deputy Head of the Da Nang Statistical Office, commented: Tourism is one of the economic pillars of the city, contributing a large proportion to the total added value. During the peak season, tourism plays a decisive role in ensuring economic growth as planned.
Not only the tourism industry, trade and consumption activities in Da Nang are also stimulated thanks to accompanying programs during the festival season. The city's Department of Industry and Trade has implemented a series of summer promotion programs, Mega Sale... contributing to creating conditions for people and tourists to experience shopping for quality goods at reasonable prices. The program also creates a playground for businesses, promotes consumption of goods, and expands the market.
Ms. Do Thi Quynh Tram, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang, said: The stimulus programs during the festival season have created a positive ripple effect, promoting consumption, contributing to the growth of the service economy and creating added value for local products and businesses.
Currently, the tourism and service sectors of Da Nang account for more than 71% of the city's economic structure, supporting the economy to continue its breakthrough growth momentum. Trade and service activities still maintain an impressive growth rate, which is a positive signal in the economic development of Da Nang city to achieve the double-digit growth target this year.
