Changes in public reception, complaint and denunciation settlement

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Quan Hoa mountainous border district is located in the west of the province. The whole district has 11,201 households, with 49,518 people. Quan Hoa district authorities at all levels determined to improve the effectiveness of citizen reception and complaint and denunciation settlement (KNTC) not only to protect the legitimate rights of the people, but also to effectively serve the task of local socio-economic development.

Changes in public reception, complaint and denunciation settlement

People of Quan Hoa district in the meeting, listened to the leaders of the district People's Committee answer some proposals and recommendations.

In close adherence to Directive No. 35-CT/TW dated May 26, 2014 of the Politburo on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in the work of receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations", Directive No. 21-CT/TU dated April 8, 2019 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in the work of receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations", every year, the People's Committee of Quan Hoa district has proactively developed a plan for inspection, resolving complaints and denunciations and preventing and combating corruption. At the same time, it has issued documents to direct departments, agencies, units and 15 communes and towns to effectively and qualitatively implement the Law on Citizen Reception, the Law on Complaints and the Law on Denunciations. In addition to regularly inspecting and directing the chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and towns and heads of specialized agencies under the District People's Committee to perform well the work of receiving citizens, handling petitions and complaints according to their authority, the District also strengthens the propaganda work of the Law on Citizen Reception, the Law on Complaints, the Law on Denunciations on the media, through conferences and periodic activities of Party committees and political organizations...

To ensure that citizen reception is done properly, the District People's Committee has arranged a room with adequate facilities to serve as a citizen reception office according to regulations. The District also arranges enough officials and civil servants to perform the task of receiving citizens of the District, with priority given to those trained in law. On the other hand, the District always creates conditions for the officials receiving citizens to attend training courses to improve their skills in receiving citizens, classifying and resolving complaints and petitions. More importantly, the District People's Committee proactively creates conditions for the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and political organizations to supervise citizen reception activities and resolve complaints and petitions.

With the spirit of being close to the people, grasping the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people and effectively resolving the things "the people need, the people expect", from 2022 to 2024, the State administrative agencies of Quan Hoa district received 458 citizens coming to complain and petition, reflecting and recommending 458 cases. Of which, the district level received 100 citizens; the commune level received 358 citizens. In parallel with the citizen reception activities, the settlement of petitions and letters was also focused on by the district authorities at all levels to direct, handle and promptly resolve. From 2022 to 2024, the whole district received 338 petitions and letters, reflections and recommendations from citizens. Of which, 81 petitions and letters were under the jurisdiction of the district People's Committee Chairman; 257 petitions and letters were under the jurisdiction of the commune and town People's Committee Chairmen. Based on the classification of petitions, government leaders from district to grassroots levels have strengthened leadership and directed the effective handling of 338 petitions, complaints, reflections and recommendations from citizens, reaching a rate of 100%.

With the drastic participation of authorities at all levels and appropriate approaches, the work of receiving citizens and handling complaints and petitions in Quan Hoa district in recent years has had positive changes. Many complaints and petitions have been resolved, ensuring the legitimate rights of the people. This has not only reduced the number of prolonged complaints and petitions, but also contributed to maintaining political security, social order and safety, creating a stable environment for local socio -economic development.
