On the morning of November 25, the Department of Transport of Da Nang City started construction of the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 14B through Da Nang City.
The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 14B through Da Nang City has a total length of 7.58 km, starting at Km 24 + 633 (Hoa Nhon commune, Hoa Vang district), ending at Km 32 + 185.09 (Hoa Khuong commune, Hoa Vang district) adjacent to Quang Nam .
The total investment for construction of the project is 788,446 billion VND, from the central budget and Da Nang city budget.
The project is invested by the Department of Transport, ECC Construction Investment and Consulting Joint Stock Company as project management consultant, and Traffic Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 5 as survey contractor, design documents preparation, and cost estimate. The construction contractor is a joint venture of Dong Son Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company - Cienco 4 Group Joint Stock Company.
Groundbreaking ceremony for upgrading National Highway 14B through Da Nang
Mr. Bui Hong Trung, Director of the Department of Transport of Da Nang City, said that the project marks an important milestone for the Transport sector of Da Nang City in immediately starting to organize and implement the policies and orientations that the sector and city planning have approved by the Prime Minister .
In particular, this is one of the projects that the Prime Minister has agreed to implement investment in a combination of central budget (assigned to the Ministry of Transport) and local budget (Da Nang City). The project's objective is to gradually complete the national transport network development plan and the overall socio-economic development plan of Da Nang City.
The scale of the completed route includes 6 lanes, including 4 motor vehicle lanes, 2 mixed vehicle lanes, a road surface width of 34 m, and the expansion of 4 old bridges on the route.
Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that the project also has strategic significance in completing the road traffic infrastructure system, not only of Da Nang City but also of the country, contributing to promoting urban development as well as socio-economic development in the western region of the city.
"The project forms a horizontal axis that not only connects the western traffic axes of Ho Chi Minh Road with the North-South Expressway and National Highway 1 in the east; but also connects with the East-West Economic Corridor 2, promoting socio-economic development of localities along the route. After completion, the project will also contribute to changing the appearance of the western gateway of the city in a modern direction, while creating new space for urban development in this direction, in line with the long-standing desire of the people to overcome the congestion and accidents on the main traffic axis", said Mr. Le Trung Chinh.
