On June 22nd, the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Thua Thien-Hue Department of Tourism and the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized a tourism promotion program for these three provinces and cities in Taipei (Taiwan) with the theme "Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage".
The three localities of Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam introduced their distinctive tourism products, such as the Heritage Route, to over 120 representatives from airlines and travel companies. They focused on promoting products that cater to the tastes of Taiwanese tourists, including beach resorts, cultural tourism, culinary experiences , shopping, spa treatments, MICE tourism, golf, and wedding tourism.

On this occasion, businesses from the three localities also had the opportunity to access, exchange information, and offer tourism products and services to partners, promoting bilateral tourist exchanges between the parties.
According to Mr. Vu Tien Dung, Head of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, in the first five months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed nearly 530,000 visitors from Taiwan, an increase of over 110% compared to the same period last year. Approximately 45% of these visitors came to Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Da Nang, etc. The number of Vietnamese tourists choosing to travel to Taiwan is also increasing, and it is predicted that in 2024, the number of tourists traveling between the two sides will surpass the peak level of the period before the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in the first five months of 2024, Da Nang served nearly 3.78 million overnight visitors, an increase of over 22% compared to the same period in 2023, and an increase of over 37% compared to the same period in 2019 (before Covid-19).
Specifically for the Taiwanese market, the number of visitors to Da Nang City accounted for 10.8% of the total international tourist market structure and ranked second in the top 10 international tourist markets to Da Nang in the first five months of 2024.
