Da Nang consults on implementing the Project to develop cultural industries by 2030

On November 25, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang organized a consultation workshop to implement the Project "Developing cultural industries in Da Nang city to 2030".

The event aims to create a forum for exchange between management agencies, experts, businesses and the creative community to identify the current situation, challenges and propose breakthrough solutions for the cultural industry.

According to the Organizing Committee, the conference received many presentations from experts, researchers and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism . The contents focused on international experiences in building “cultural and creative cities”, lessons from successful cultural industry models, as well as institutional, resource and creative infrastructure bottlenecks that need to be removed.

Speaking at the workshop, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang , emphasized that culture is becoming an important factor in the competitiveness of localities.

According to her, the cultural industry with 10 key sectors is not only a spiritual foundation but also a resource for economic development based on creativity and technology.

Ms. Hanh believes that Da Nang has many advantages to make a breakthrough, especially when the city aims to become the cultural and artistic center of the Central region, and at the same time be among the top three localities in the country in cultural industry.

In recent times, Da Nang City has invested in cultural institutions, expanded creative spaces and organized many international events such as the International Fireworks Festival, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival, and tours to experience heritage, craft villages and street art.

However, the city still faces limitations in terms of enterprise scale, lack of leading brands, unsatisfactory creative human resources and unfavorable creative markets. These limitations need to be resolved with appropriate policies, innovative vision and the cooperation of the whole society.

The workshop is an opportunity to consult experts to find feasible solutions, contributing to effectively exploiting cultural and creative potential, while promoting the preservation and promotion of heritage values in economic and tourism development./.
