Da Nang identifies economic diplomacy as the focus to promote development

On the afternoon of December 20, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference of the Prime Minister with ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to review economic diplomacy in 2024 and key tasks in 2025 to create momentum for growth. Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh chaired the conference at the Da Nang bridge.

Mr. Le Trung Chinh - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City: (Da Nang City has maximized bilateral cooperation programs to exploit economic diplomacy. Up to now , Da Nang City has established friendly and cooperative relations with 49 localities of 22 countries and territories with 105 signed agreements . Through the signed agreements, the city has coordinated with foreign localities to organize many programs to promote investment, trade, and tourism; connecting cooperation programs in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.)

Da Nang City identifies one of the important solutions for economic recovery and growth as continuing to proactively improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs activities, especially economic diplomacy. Da Nang City is in great need of support and assistance from Government leaders, from central ministries, branches and Vietnamese diplomatic missions in other countries to support the introduction of successful models of Free Trade Zones and International Financial Centers in other countries, connecting Da Nang to research, learn from experience, and effectively apply them in the establishment and operation of Free Trade Zones and Administrative Centers in Da Nang City. At the same time, introduce potential international partners that can cooperate with Da Nang City to effectively implement.

Mr. Le Trung Chinh - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City: (The city identifies economic diplomacy as a spearhead, promoting technology diplomacy as the focus, focusing on attracting investment in the fields of high technology, semiconductors and artificial intelligence. Therefore, Da Nang City is looking forward to receiving connections and introducing strategic investors and large investors in the fields that the city prioritizes. Da Nang has issued the Project on International Integration and Cooperation of Da Nang City until 2030, the effective implementation of the Project requires early and remote support from our diplomatic missions abroad. We request the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad to support connections and introduce large-scale international events, conferences and seminars held in Da Nang; expand export markets, connect and promote the opening of direct flights to Da Nang City to pave the way for investment, trade and tourism development; introduce Introduce partners, including overseas Vietnamese, to cooperate with Da Nang in the fields of science, technology, startups, innovation, healthcare, high-quality education, etc.)

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, ministries, branches and localities to continue to strengthen economic diplomacy in a more practical and systematic manner in the spirit of "3 clear" results, clear products, clear contributions to the country's socio-economic development. Promote institutional reform to create an open investment environment in terms of policies and institutions, creating opportunities for economic sectors to develop; develop infrastructure to reduce input costs, train human resources to increase labor productivity. At the same time, make efforts to implement "3 clear" policies, clear infrastructure, smart management. Increase the provision of information to localities and businesses on governance rules, standards, new economic trends; increase resources for economic diplomacy activities./.
