Highlights of the Spring Flower Market On the wharf, under the boat

According to the Organizing Committee, the Spring Flower Market “On the wharf under the boat” is one of 19 typical annual cultural, artistic and festival events in Ho Chi Minh City.

This year's Spring Flower Market has more than 650 stalls from the provinces of Ben Tre , Vinh Long, Tien Giang, Long An, Dong Thap, Lam Dong... and districts in Ho Chi Minh City participating. The stalls display many types of fruits, vegetables, and tubers, serving the sightseeing and shopping needs of the city's residents during Tet.

The highlight of the Spring Flower Market "On the wharf, under the boat" in 2024 is the Red Ceramic Art Street of Vinh Long province.

The ceramic road is designed with five colors symbolizing the five elements, starting with the image of a brick kiln and ending with a red ceramic house with three rooms and two wings, typical of the people of the South, which set a Vietnamese record in 2023.

Next to it is the “Love Flower Street” designed with a harmonious combination of sunflower images representing prosperity and happiness for a new year full of joy; the main stage combines the unique “On the wharf, under the boat” miniature scene, floating on Tau Hu canal.

Within the framework of the Spring Flower Market, there will also be art performances on boats along Tau Hu Canal from February 4 to February 8; displays and introductions of typical products of some provinces and cities, and activities to experience wrapping and cooking banh tet.

The City's professional art performances have a different genre each night (music, drama, classical opera, comedy, cai luong and amateur music...).

At the Spring Flower Market, there is also Ong Do Street, the graceful Ao Dai Hoa parade with the theme "Vietnamese Ao Dai - Flowers of Tet" and the "Flower House Decoration" contest; Jam making contest with the theme "Tet Flavor"; "Land magpie singing and dancing to welcome Spring" contest...

The Spring Flower Market “On the Wharf, Under the Boat” has been held for over 45 years at Binh Dong Wharf, District 8 and has become a typical cultural and artistic event series of Ho Chi Minh City every time Tet comes and spring comes. This is considered a miniature floating market of the West, carrying its own cultural beauty and traditional values in the heart of modern Ho Chi Minh City.
