Highlights of Lai Thieu Fruit Festival 2024

BINH DUONG On the evening of June 15, the 2024 Ripe Fruit Festival with the theme 'Lai Thieu - the season of appointment' officially opened. This year's highlight, in addition to mangosteen, is many regional specialties.

The 2024 Fruit Festival officially opens, promising many unique activities to attract tourists.

With the theme “Lai Thieu Season of Appointment”, the 2024 Ripe Fruit Festival has about 120 booths displaying artistically shaped fruits; displaying fresh fruits and processed products from fruits, fruit tree seedlings; displaying orchids, ornamental birds; selling ceramic and lacquer products and selling typical dishes and drinks of Binh Duong as well as regions across the country. The festival attracts thousands of people and tourists from inside and outside the province to visit.

The 2024 Ripe Fruit Festival is an important cultural event, with the desire to contribute to building a traditional local brand, an opportunity to promote the image of the land, people of Binh Duong and specialty fruit products in the province in general and Lai Thieu fruit garden in particular to tourists.

At the same time, it is an opportunity to introduce the beautiful image of Thuan An eco-urban area associated with garden eco-tourism business activities, contributing to the development of garden eco-tourism in the province. The festival also creates conditions for localities inside and outside the province to have the opportunity to exchange, learn, promote trade, investment and tourism, contributing to promoting the socio -economic development of the region and each locality.

Mangosteen is one of Binh Duong's specialties recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as one of the 50 delicious Vietnamese fruit products.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Festival, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in recent years, in addition to focusing on socio-economic development, the Party Committee, government and people in the province have also paid great attention to preserving and developing fruit orchards associated with developing tourism services on the basis of focusing on exploiting the potentials and advantages of localities in the province, in which attention has been paid to developing high-tech agriculture and maintaining specialized areas of traditional specialty fruit trees of localities such as Tan Uyen, Bac Tan Uyen, Dau Tieng, especially Lai Thieu fruit orchard of Thuan An city.

Therefore, the organization of the Ripe Fruit Festival in 2024 is an event that affirms the correct policy of the province. In addition to serving the need to enjoy the specialty fruits of the fertile Lai Thieu land, the Festival will raise people's awareness in preserving orchards, conserving valuable genetic resources of fruit varieties, aiming to restore the brand "Lai Thieu Orchard" with a long tradition associated with the history of Binh Duong province.

The festival is an opportunity to promote the image of Binh Duong land and people and specialty fruits.

“On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee calls on farmers and gardeners in the province to always make efforts to work with the local government to continue to maintain and develop the local specialty fruit gardens. In particular, people need to change their mindset, business model, and be friendly in serving tourists, contributing to preserving and building a friendly, enthusiastic, and hospitable image to attract more and more tourists to Lai Thieu in particular and Binh Duong province in general,” emphasized Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha.
