In some pomelo growing areas such as Thuy Xuan, Huong Tra, Phong Dien… many farmers are very excited about a bumper pomelo crop.

Thuy Bieu is one of the famous pomelo growing areas in Hue . In recent days, Mr. Hoang Trong Khien's family has been busy harvesting a pomelo garden of more than 4,000 square meters. This year, thanks to organic pomelo care, few pests, and many rainy periods, Mr. Khien's pomelo garden has achieved a higher yield than previous years, the quality is also better and brings in an income of about 120 million VND.

Thanh Tra grapefruit is a unique grapefruit variety of Hue. Currently, the entire city of Hue has about 860 hectares of Thanh Tra grapefruit, with an average yield of 600 - 700 tons/year. Income from this type of tree is many times higher than growing rice and other crops, estimated at 250 - 400 million VND/ha, with a profit of more than 50%.

Currently, Hue city has many areas growing VietGAP pomelos, most notably in communes and wards such as Thuy Bieu, Huong Van, Phong Dien...

Not only having a good harvest, Hue's specialty crops such as Thanh Tra grapefruit and Green-skin grapefruit are also in high demand this year. Many traders from Da Nang, Quang Nam , Ho Chi Minh City... come to the garden to place orders and purchase large quantities.

In 2024, Hue Thanh Tra grapefruit was granted a geographical indication registration certificate by the National Office of Intellectual Property, thereby protecting the brand of products originating from Hue, helping to affirm its position, enhance its reputation and promote local economic development.
