Opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to penetrate the UK packaging market

With the support of the Vietnam Trade Office in the UK and the Vietnam Packaging Association, 12 Vietnamese enterprises attended London Packaging Week 2025, which took place on October 15-16 at ExCel - London's largest national exhibition center.

According to a VNA reporter in London, although it was their first time appearing at the leading international packaging trade event, Vietnamese products have attracted the attention of many local and international businesses and consumers.

The Vietnamese booth displays a wide range of packaging products, from packaging accessories such as plywood pallets, self-adhesive labels, roll labels and shrink film, to diverse packaging materials such as film packaging, corrugated carton packaging, PP woven bags, cement bags, etc.

Mr. Le Dinh Ba - Commercial Counselor, Vietnam Trade Office in the UK - said that by organizing a national booth at London Packaging Week, the Vietnam Trade Office in the UK hopes to support export enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, to promote their products, access and conquer the UK market at a reasonable cost.

At the event, Vietnamese products attracted great attention from businesses and consumers thanks to their diverse, environmentally friendly materials and meeting export standards to the UK and European markets.

Mr. Pham Van Duc - Sales Director of Greenovation Packaging Company - said that the company's molded wooden pallet product, a very new product on the market, is made entirely from recycled wood and has attracted the attention of customers because it can help businesses save costs and reduce waste, while building a sustainable supply chain and reducing deforestation. Many potential customers and partners at the event are interested in 100% recycled, environmentally friendly products. Therefore, London Packaging Week is a good opportunity for Greenovation Packaging and Vietnamese exporters to promote good quality and environmentally friendly products in the UK and world markets.

Mr. Le Dinh Ba commented that Vietnamese enterprises have great potential to penetrate the UK packaging market. In fact, enterprises have prepared at different levels to expand exports to developed markets, including the European Union (EU), North America and the UK.

London Packaging Week is the UK's leading packaging trade event, showcasing packaging products across a wide range of industries from premium food and beverage, fast-moving consumer goods to luxury goods and cosmetics.

Mr. Chris Newhouse - Business Director of London Packaging Week 2025 - said that this is the 15th year the event has been held, attracting more than 200 exhibiting businesses and about 5,500 visitors over two days. According to Mr. Newhouse, the event brings together businesses, experts and policymakers in the packaging sector around the world, from China, Türkiye to Europe, and is an opportunity for businesses to grasp market trends, technology solutions in the industry, as well as introduce products, connect and find partners. Attending the event is really a good opportunity for the Vietnamese packaging industry to promote products and expand market share in the UK, a large market that is very open in terms of product supply.

Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khue - General Director of Lotus Packaging - shared that the company has long exported large quantities of goods to the UK market and is a supplier to major supermarkets in the UK such as Tesco and Aldi. Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khue said that Lotus Packaging attended the fair to grasp industry trends and market demand, especially for sustainable packaging products, green products, and at the same time explore cooperation opportunities with new partners in the UK and Europe.

Mr. Le Dinh Ba added that by supporting businesses to participate in international trade events such as London Packaging Week, the Vietnam Trade Office hopes to further promote Vietnam's exports to the UK, not only packaging products but also other strong products that can dominate the market such as food, footwear, fashion , etc. The Vietnam Trade Office always accompanies businesses on their journey to conquer the UK market, a market with high quality standards and great potential.
