Wave of startups reaching the "unicorn" milestone by 2025

The year 2025 will see a boom in startups, with at least 80 startups reaching unicorn status – a valuation of over $1 billion. This boom is mainly driven by artificial intelligence, but also includes businesses in other industries from manufacturing technology, healthcare , energy to legal services and trade.

In November, some prominent names included Genspark (AI agents, valued at $1.25 billion), Gamma (AI image generation, $2.1 billion), and Modal (AI cloud computing platform, $1.1 billion). In particular, Fireworks AI reached $4 billion, while Reflection – a company developing open platform models – attracted attention with a valuation of up to $8 billion.

The previous months also saw a number of large deals. In addition, healthcare startups such as New Limit (precision medicine) and Thyme Care (personalized cancer care) also made the list.

What these companies have in common is their ability to attract huge investments from major funds such as Sequoia, a16z, Benchmark, Kleiner Perkins, and Nvidia. The strong investor interest shows that AI and related technologies are becoming the focus of the global market.

Nvidia invests $2 billion in Synopsys to expand AI collaboration

Nvidia announced a $2 billion investment in Synopsys, a leader in chip design software, on December 1. The investment is part of a series of major deals by Nvidia through 2025, including a $100 billion investment in OpenAI, a $5 billion investment in Intel, and several others aimed at cementing its dominance in the AI industry.

Synopsys is known for its chip design and simulation software, which is widely used in many high-tech industries. With the new partnership, Nvidia will help speed up the processing of these technical applications, shortening simulation time from weeks to just hours thanks to GPUs.

In addition to chip design, Synopsys is expanding into other areas such as jet engine simulation and complex engineering systems. The combination of Nvidia's GPU technology promises to open up major advances in digital engineering, manufacturing and industrial design.

This investment shows that Nvidia is not only focusing on hardware but also wants to expand its influence into design and simulation software, creating a comprehensive AI ecosystem from chips to applications.
