Two nuclear power projects in Khanh Hoa are expected to operate in the 2030-2035 period.

(Dan Tri) - The Government has just approved a list of key energy projects, including 32 power source projects and a series of LNG warehouse, gas-electricity, and power transmission projects, paving the way for a series of projects to be implemented from now until 2035.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has just signed a decision approving the list of important national projects and works in the energy sector.

Accordingly, 32 power source projects including 21 thermal power plant projects, 9 hydropower plant projects, and 2 offshore wind power projects are in this list.

Some notable projects include Hai Phong LNG Thermal Power Plant (phase 1 and 2, total 4,800 MW, expected to operate in 2030-2035); Bac Lieu LNG (3,200 MW, operating before 2030); Quang Ninh LNG (1,500 MW, operating in phase 2028-2029); Ca Na LNG (1,500 MW, operating before 2030). Ninh Thuan 1 and 2 nuclear power projects in Khanh Hoa (each plant 2,000-3,200 MW) expected to operate in phase 2030-2035.

In the group of pumped storage hydropower plants, there are Bac Ai (1,200 MW, expected to operate in 2029-2030), Don Duong (unit 1 is 300 MW, expected to operate in 2030; units 2 and 3 have a capacity of 600 MW in the period 2031-2035), Phuoc Hoa (1,200 MW, expected to operate in 2029-2030). In addition, there are large offshore wind power projects in the South Central region (2,000 MW) and a wind power export project to Singapore and Malaysia (3,000 MW) expected to operate in 2033.

In addition, 7 LNG warehouse projects are in the list of important national works and projects, key to the energy sector, including Quang Ninh Power Plant LNG Warehouse, Thai Binh Power Plant LNG Warehouse, Nghi Son Power Plant LNG Warehouse, Hai Lang Power Plant LNG Warehouse Phase 1, Ca Na Power Plant LNG Warehouse, Bac Lieu Power Plant LNG Warehouse (Phase 1), North Central Coast LNG Warehouse (Vung Ang LNG Warehouse) Phase 1.

In addition, there are 7 projects belonging to the gas - electricity project chain including the Block B gas - electricity project chain (3,810 MW in Can Tho); the Blue Whale gas - electricity project chain (3,750 MW in Da Nang, Quang Ngai); the Son My LNG gas - electricity project chain (4,500 MW in Lam Dong).

A number of power line and transformer station projects (12 projects to connect and release power source capacity, 8 projects to increase electricity import, 14 projects to increase transmission capacity and supply electricity to large load areas) are also on the list of important national projects and works, key to the energy sector.

In addition, there are 3 projects of industrial and service centers for renewable energy in the South Central - South region. Specifically, the high-voltage underground cable factory serving renewable energy projects in Ho Chi Minh City; the project of industrial and service centers for renewable energy in Ho Chi Minh City; Khanh Hoa industrial and service centers for renewable energy. Expected to operate in 2030.
