The 20th Professional Workshop of the Association of Journalists of the Northern Midlands and Mountains Provinces, 2025

Attending the workshop were comrades: Mai Duc Thong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio and Television, Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial Journalists Association; Hoang Thi Hang, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Vice Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial Journalists Association; representatives of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; leaders of the Journalists Associations of the provinces: Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Lao Cai, Phu Tho.

Comrade Mai Duc Thong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio and Television, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association delivered the opening speech at the workshop.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, comrade Mai Duc Thong emphasized: The workshop took place in the context of local Party Committees successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party; preparing for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. These are important events of great significance in the political life of our country, affirming the revolutionary achievements and setting out goals, directions and tasks to bring our country to continue to develop, entering an era of growth.

Leaders of Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association presented a paper on social responsibility of journalists in the current period.

This workshop is an important forum for the Journalists Associations of provinces and cities to meet and exchange experiences in the Association's work; share good practices and effective models in organizing professional activities; and propose solutions to improve professional ethics and social responsibility of journalists. In particular, 2025 is a year of many drastic changes in journalism activities. Implementing the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus, improving management effectiveness and the quality of information and propaganda, the process of arranging and merging press agencies is being deployed synchronously in many localities. This is an important step to overcome the fragmentation, dispersion of resources, and duplication of functions; at the same time, creating conditions for building a modern convergent newsroom model, enhancing the capacity for innovation and raising the position of journalism in the digital age...

Comrade Nguyen Binh Minh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio and Television, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association presented a speech on building a cultural environment in press agencies with the implementation of the Press Law and regulations on professional ethics for journalists.

At the workshop, delegates presented a number of papers such as: "Building a cultural environment in press agencies" with the implementation of the Press Law, regulations on professional ethics of journalists; difficulties of the local Journalists Association after the merger; solutions of the Journalists Association in political and ideological work, professional ethics for members and journalists; social responsibility of journalists in the current period; promoting the role of the Association and Journalists Club in organizing the Association after merger and consolidation; Ethics and social responsibility of journalists in the current context - New challenges and requirements; Solutions to improve the quality of training and fostering for members in the period of digital transformation and AI; Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television with innovation in content and form of propaganda work on Party building...

Comrade Nguyen Thi Hoai Yen, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio and Television, presented a paper on Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio and Television on innovating the content and form of propaganda work on Party building.

Leaders of Phu Tho Provincial Journalists Association presented a paper discussing the difficulties of the local Journalists Association after the merger.

At the Workshop, the Tuyen Quang Provincial Journalists Association handed over the right to host the Workshop of Journalists Associations of the Northern Midlands and Mountains Provinces and Hanoi City in 2026 to the Bac Ninh Provincial Journalists Association.
