Recently, public opinion was stirred up by a bipedal robot displayed at an exhibition bearing the logo of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Many opinions say that this robot is originally from abroad but has the logo of Bach Khoa, completely covering the logo and label of the manufacturer, which can cause confusion for viewers about the origin of the product.

Regarding this issue, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Dang Chinh, Vice Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that the two-legged robot displayed at the exhibition had mechanical parts legally imported through a business affiliated with Hanoi University of Science and Technology and had been authorized by the manufacturer for use for the purposes of development, training, research and transfer.
On that basis, the research team led by lecturers from Hanoi University of Science and Technology has developed new control algorithms, giving robots more features such as: Improving stability when moving on complex terrain, increasing the ability to adapt to changing heights, and developing algorithms to help robots climb curved stairs.
The features of the bipedal robot were demonstrated during the exhibition. In training, the research team built professional software and documentation, allowing lecturers and students to directly program, integrate AI and control motion.
The school representative affirmed that the bipedal robot displayed at the exhibition is a transparent product used for the learning, practice, research and development process of the research group at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
In the long-term exhibition conditions, with too many visitors, many units marking the exhibits for management and preservation, the exhibition department of Hanoi University of Science and Technology used paper stamps with the school's logo to stick on all exhibits, including the bipedal robot, for management and preservation. At that time, there was an error in sticking the paper stamp on the bipedal robot at the position of the product's logo.
"Although there was a leaflet introducing the robot's features at the exhibition area, the use of Hanoi University of Science and Technology logo stamps to mark preservation has caused some visitors to misunderstand, which is regrettable. The school sincerely thanks the comments and will seriously accept and learn from them for similar events," Mr. Chinh informed.
Regarding the responsibility of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Dang Chinh said that upon receiving the feedback, the leadership of Hanoi University of Science and Technology immediately directed, reviewed, and requested relevant individuals and departments to seriously explain the feedback.
Representatives of the research team and relevant departments have properly performed their accountability responsibilities and provided full information when requested.
"The leadership of Hanoi University of Science and Technology has severely criticized the relevant departments for the above mentioned negligence. Hanoi University of Science and Technology has also reported this matter to the competent authorities," Mr. Chinh shared.
