Can Tho University becomes a national key university

On July 17, Can Tho University leaders said that in the 2025-2026 school year, Can Tho University plans to enroll 10,500 students for more than 100 regular university training programs. Of which, there are 89 general programs, 2 advanced programs, and 13 high-quality programs.

Can Tho University announced the first round of admission in 2025, the application period is from July 16-28, with 6 admission methods, including organizing the V-SAT entrance exam, considering the 2025 high school graduation exam scores, considering the transcript scores...

The good news for the school is that the Government has just decided to convert Can Tho University into Can Tho University after many years of investment to make Can Tho University a national key school.

Accordingly, Can Tho University is a public educational institution under the Ministry of Education and Training . Can Tho University restructures its organization and operations according to the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and relevant legal provisions.

According to the 2025-2026 school year roadmap, Can Tho University has 6 member schools, including: Polytechnic School, School of Information Technology and Communications, School of Economics, School of Agriculture, School of Education, and School of Fisheries.

By 2027, Can Tho University will continue to establish 3 more schools: School of Political Science, Social Sciences and Humanities, School of Natural Sciences and School of Environment and Natural Resources.

This is the premise for Can Tho University to become a modern, multi-disciplinary, multi-field training institution; linking training with research and knowledge transfer, commercializing training products to serve the socio-economic development of the Mekong Delta region.

Established in 1966, up to now, Can Tho University organizes 121 undergraduate training programs, 59 graduate training programs, and 24 doctoral training programs, with more than 47,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
