The Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has just issued a resolution to establish three "subsidiary" schools on the basis of reorganizing the school's faculties.
The School of Medicine was established on the basis of reorganizing the faculty of medicine with an organizational structure including the principal, vice principals; the scientific and training council; functional departments (general administration department, science - training - foreign affairs department, quality assurance and testing department); 30 departments; centers (Family Doctor Center, Center for Advanced Clinical Simulation Training).
This unit is headquartered at 217 Hong Bang, Ward 11, District 5.
The School of Pharmacy was established on the basis of reorganizing the Faculty of Pharmacy with an organizational structure including the principal, vice principals; scientific and training council; functional departments (general administration department, science - training - foreign affairs department, quality assurance and testing department); 12 departments.
The headquarters of the School of Pharmacy is located at 41-43 Dinh Tien Hoang, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1.
The School of Nursing and Medical Technology was established on the basis of reorganizing the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Technology with an organizational structure including the principal, vice principals; the scientific and training council; functional departments (general administration department, science - training - foreign affairs department, quality assurance and testing department); 8 departments; Nursing - Medical Technology Skills Training Center.
The headquarters of the School of Nursing - Medical Technology is located at 201 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ward 12, District 5.
Thus, in addition to the three newly established schools, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy currently has four faculties: Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Public Health , Faculty of Traditional Medicine, and Faculty of Basic Sciences.
The school also has the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City (3 campuses) with 11 functional departments, 7 centers and 4 functional units.
The above resolution was issued after the School Council reviewed and agreed at the 27th meeting of the 2020-2025 term. In addition to the above content, the School Council approved the awarding of the title of Honorary Professor to Professor Ho Hoi and Honorary Doctor to Dr. David Bao-Long Duong for his contributions and support to the school's competency-based medical doctor training program.
The School Board has reviewed and approved the reorganization of Saigon Pharmaceutical Science and Technology Center into UMP Science and Technology Center; Regulations on establishment, reorganization, and dissolution of affiliated units, subordinate units, and organizations under the unit; applying salary levels to employees recruited to perform support, service, and professional work according to Decree No. 111/2022/ND-CP dated December 30, 2022.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy aims to develop into the leading university in Vietnam and among the top 100 universities in Asia in the field of health sciences.
