School apologizes, terminates meal contract after feedback
Immediately after the incident occurred, the school proactively coordinated with the People's Committee of Binh Minh commune, the police, the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Department and press agencies to clarify the cause, determine responsibility and handle it according to regulations.
On the evening of October 16, after a meeting with representatives of the Parent Association of each class, the school agreed to terminate the contract with Nhat Anh Import Export Trading and Service Company Limited - the unit providing meals for boarding students from October 17.

The selection of a new meal supplier will be carried out according to the bidding process under the direction and supervision of the People's Committee of Binh Minh commune, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulations.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nam said that the selection of a new meal supplier will be carried out according to the bidding process under the direction and supervision of the People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune, ensuring objectivity, transparency and compliance with regulations. The school understands that the recent incident and the temporary interruption of the kitchen have caused a lot of inconvenience to parents. We accept responsibility and express our deep apologies, and look forward to receiving the sympathy and companionship of parents during this time.
According to Ms. Nam, the school has adjusted the boarding plan, parents have a choice. While waiting for the completion of the bidding process to select a new meal provider, Cu Khe Primary School announced a temporary adjustment to the boarding plan. Accordingly, parents can choose one of two options to ensure students' meals and lunch breaks.
Option 1: Parents prepare lunch for their children to bring to school. The school will arrange for teachers to take care of and supervise students eating and resting at school. Parents commit to ensuring food safety.
Option 2: Parents pick up their children for lunch and rest from 10:30, then bring them back to school at 1:30 for afternoon classes. With this option, the school does not charge boarding care fees while students are at home.
The official announcement about the boarding plan will be sent to parents by the school on October 19.
Previously, on the evening of October 16, Cu Khe Primary School announced that it would temporarily suspend boarding for students on October 17 and was expected to resume service from Monday, October 20. However, according to the latest information, the boarding plan on October 20 has not yet been agreed upon.
Commitment to tightening food safety procedures
Principal Nguyen Thi Nam affirmed that the school is committed to not allowing any more food safety incidents to occur in the future. Specifically, the school will carry out the process of selecting new meal suppliers in a transparent, careful and correct manner. At the same time, it will build a strict monitoring process from the stage of receiving input food, processing, distributing meals to storing samples for testing.

Principal Nguyen Thi Nam affirmed that the school is committed to not allowing any more food safety incidents to occur in the future.
Ms. Nam shared: "First of all, I would like to send my sincere apologies to all parents for the food safety incident that occurred on October 15 at the school. After the incident was discovered, the school proactively coordinated with the authorities of Binh Minh commune, the police, the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Department and the press agencies to clarify the cause, determine responsibility and take measures to handle it in accordance with regulations."
However, to avoid similar incidents in other schools, the education sector needs to establish a strict food safety inspection and monitoring process, from the selection of suppliers to the processing and distribution of meals. Schools need to publicly disclose information, regularly coordinate with authorities and parent representatives to ensure the quality of boarding meals.
