Efforts to develop ethnic minority areas

The political report at the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Ha Giang Province in 2024 showed that after 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Ha Giang Province in 2019, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee, the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities in the province has been constantly improved. The poverty rate in ethnic minority areas has decreased by an average of 5.99%; poor districts and extremely disadvantaged communes have decreased by over 6%/year. The quality of education in ethnic minority and mountainous areas has been improved. Attention has been paid to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic groups. National defense and security have been maintained; ethnic minorities trust the leadership of the Party.

Similarly, in Dak Nong , after 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Congress of Delegates in 2019, with the attention and leadership of the Party Committee, the management of authorities at all levels and the consensus of the people; support policies for ethnic minorities have been significantly improved, the rate of poor ethnic minority households in general decreased by 6.87%, the rate of poor ethnic minority households in particular decreased by 5% or more, basically there are no more hungry households.

Up to now, many ethnic minority and mountainous localities have successfully organized the 4th Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities in 2024. Soc Trang is the first province in the country to organize the Provincial Congress on August 18. According to the plan, the Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities will be completed in November 2024.

The political report at the Ninh Binh Provincial Congress stated that in the 2019-2024 period, ethnic work (CTDT) and ethnic policy implementation (CSDT) have always been identified by Ninh Binh province as regular tasks of the entire political system and society. In recent years, all levels and sectors have coordinated to advise on the issuance of documents guiding the implementation of programs, projects and plans to ensure the successful completion of goals and tasks according to the assigned plan. The poverty rate in ethnic minority areas by the end of 2023 is 2.95%, near-poor households are about 3.58%; the average income per capita in ethnic minority areas reaches 60 million VND/year.

The development of ethnic minority areas in Ha Giang, Dak Nong, and Ninh Binh provinces is a common picture in many localities that have just successfully organized the 4th Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities in 2024. The results achieved in the field of ethnic minority policy and implementation of ethnic minority policies of localities continue to show the efforts to build comprehensively developed ethnic minority areas.
