7th Congress of Delegates of the Provincial Lawyers Association

On the morning of August 27th, the Ninh Binh Provincial Lawyers Association held its 7th Congress of Delegates for the 2024-2029 term.

Attending the opening ceremony of the Congress were Comrade Tran Song Tung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Vietnam Lawyers Association; leaders of several departments, agencies, and localities in the province; representatives of the Emulation Bloc of Specialized Associations, along with 98 outstanding lawyers representing more than 2,000 members in the province.

During the past term, adhering closely to the guiding principles of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the set directions and tasks, the Provincial Lawyers Association has proactively developed and completed work programs and plans, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's tasks.

Participation in policy and lawmaking continues to be strengthened, with increasingly diverse content, forms, and methods of participation, and improved quality and effectiveness, making a positive contribution to the development and improvement of the Party and State's policies and laws. Over the past five years, the Association has provided input on 78 draft laws and resolutions of the National Assembly .

Legal counseling, legal assistance, complaint resolution, and mediation at the grassroots level continue to be strengthened and have made progress. Lawyers' associations at all levels have participated in advising on over 9,200 cases in areas such as civil disputes, land disputes, tax policies, marriage and family law, etc.; providing legal assistance to more than 1,500 cases, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens and maintaining social order and safety.

The work of disseminating and educating about the law has been strengthened and achieved many good results. Associations at all levels in the province have coordinated the organization of nearly 2,900 conferences to disseminate and educate about the law, with over 180,000 participants; actively coordinating the dissemination of the Party and State's policy on the socialization of legal dissemination and education...

With the achievements made during the past term, the Provincial Lawyers Association was awarded the Emulation Flag for outstanding performance by the Vietnam Lawyers Association; many collectives and individuals received commendations from various levels.

At the Congress, delegates focused on discussing and agreeing on the direction and tasks for the next term, which are: promoting the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness, and creativity; continuing to innovate and improve the quality and effectiveness of activities; building a strong and comprehensive organizational system for the Association; developing a team of lawyers according to the six ethical standards of members of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, including being proficient in professional skills, steadfast in political ideology, dedicated to the profession, serving the people, and serving justice; promoting the role of a political, social, and professional organization entrusted by the Party and the State, striving to successfully complete all assigned tasks; and building the Ninh Binh Provincial Lawyers Association into a truly strong organization in terms of politics, ideology, organization, and professionalism.

At the Congress, 33 comrades were elected to the Executive Committee of the Provincial Lawyers Association; Comrade Nguyen Hung Tien was re-elected as Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial Lawyers Association for the 2024-2029 term.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association and the Provincial People's Committee awarded commendations to collectives and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in the Association's activities during the 2019-2024 term.
